Pet care experience
Live and work in downtown Asheville and usually available on short notice with an open schedule. I've lived and cared for dogs for over 15 years. Current doggo: a 3-year-old pitty mix that we are training up to be the very best dog (better than she already is!). In a way, I'm training myself as I train her to reduce reactions and improve leash skills. Previous expeirence with mid-sized (20-30ish lbs) spaniels and a Shiba Inu. I am attentive to the needs of your pets, whatever they may be. I'm a pretty big guy who can be as much of a 'rassler as your dog needs, even if that means being a couch potato for a few hours at a time. I'm not much of a runner, but getting a mile or three of walking in is no problem if that's what your furbaby requires. Overnights, drop-ins, longer-stays. I am a writer by trade, so my work can follow me just about anywhere. No problem with administering medications. And yes, I can definitely send you a picture of your dog because you miss them.
Reviews

David was an exceptional caretaker for my older hound dog while I was away for the week. He was able to easily accommodate my dog’s schedule, administer medication, and also provide prompt communication. I would highly recommend his services to anyone.

Did a phenomenal job letting my babies out while I worked. Sent great pictures and gave a cute summary each day.

David was exceedingly patient with our difficult, unfriendly small dog. We are very grateful for his kindness and professionalism.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a dog-friendly home with a small-ish, fenced in yard and a docile (lazy?) dog who will likely love getting to know your pup. I have a reliable truck equippped with a back-seat hammock in case your pup needs a ride anywhere. I am a clean human, responsible, who is very careful to be an exceptional guest in other people's homes (because that's what I expect out of people who stay in my home!).
Information David P. would like to know about your pet
What kind of treats does your dog like? What sort of commands and leash cues are they used to? When it comes to hip hop, are the West coast or East?
A typical day
We're gaming, and your dog takes the first turn. Fetch? Rasslin? You name it. Just want to go to the end of the block to sniff that one post for ten minutes, we can do that too.

Availability
I have an extremely flexible schedule. If I'm in town I can drop in or walk on short notice and am usually available for overnights with 24-48 hour notice.
