Safety, trust & environment

I live in a very dog-friendly community with plenty of walking routes nearby. Since the yard is not fully fenced, all dogs are always leashed when outside. For dogs who benefit from a little extra room to run, there is also a local park that we may visit when conditions are appropriate and we can get a pen all to ourselves. We play games like fetch, practice basic training, and do some agility-style exercise if your dog likes that kind of activity. I also take each dog’s age, mobility, and comfort level into account when planning our fun! When out on walks, safety and control are always the priority, and I make sure dogs are walked using secure, properly fitted gear. Walks are structured and focused on engagement while exploring. My philosophy is that each dog deserves their own comfortable space to rest and decompress. Crates are used as a safe management tool when dogs are unsupervised or need downtime, so it’s important that anyone staying in my home is able to settle comfortably in a crate. For added peace of mind, I also carry private pet care insurance in addition to Rover’s coverage. My goal is always to provide care that feels calm and predictable so both dogs and their owners can feel completely at ease.

Information danielle p. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know about your pup’s routines, special needs, interests, and behaviors—both the good and the challenging. (None of us are perfect!) Things like leash habits, comfort around other dogs, and any other little quirks are always helpful to know about. The more information you share ahead of time, the better I’m able to provide care that’s safe, comfortable, and tailored to your dog.

A typical day

A typical day includes a mix of exercise, mental stimulation, and enrichment depending on what your pup enjoys. Indoors, I like to incorporate games like “find it,” where treats are hidden and dogs use their nose to search them out. Outside, we spend plenty of time exploring on walks and picking up all the interesting scents along the way. Depending on the dog’s energy level, we might take longer walks, a hike, or even a jog. I try to keep the day balanced with both physical activity and mental engagement, and lots of love.

Pet care experience

I've always loved dogs and am grateful to now work with them full-time. I previously had an Aussie mix named Shea, who I rescued in 2010 after he'd been re-surrendered multiple times. He was challenging, but our 12 years together taught me a tremendous amount about patience, structure, and building trust with dogs who need a little extra reassurance. In 2020, as I was working from home, I got more involved in the rescue community and soon enough I was fostering puppies. In 2022, I "foster failed" and adopted Shera, a spunky little girl from Louisiana who's been my sidekick ever since. She’s incredibly sweet and always ready to meet new "fur-iends"! I work with dogs of a range of temperaments and focus on maintaining a secure environment where everyone can be relaxed and happy. I'm comfortable reading canine body language and truly enjoy getting to know each pup's unique personality. I believe dogs thrive when they have clear structure, consistent routines, and calm leadership. ❤️
