Pet care experience
We are Danica and Ariana, an active, animal-loving couple living in the East Bay. We love cats and dogs and have a cat of our own, a little 15-year-old Calico named Josie. We strive to provide your pet(s) with safe, loving care so you can have peace of mind while you are away. Danica grew up with always having one or more dogs as pets, and has fostered over 10 animals through Animal Rescue Foundation. Ariana has years of experience spending time with cats, including those who are slow-to-warm-up and need a little extra patience and time. Both of us have taken the time to familiarize ourselves with pet behavior and have strong attention to detail when caring for pets. A bit about us- Danica is a pediatric speech language pathologist and Ariana is an occupational therapist. We love spending time with family and friends (and their pets!), walking, hiking, stand up paddle boarding and other outdoor activities, live music, and doing puzzles. We are both very patient and nurturing, and believe building trust with animals is one of the most important components of helping them feel as safe and content as possible. Excellent cat sitters!
Danica has been a dog sitter for me for years. She has also watched my cat. She is caring and kind and did an excellent job even as my dog got older and had more needs. I trust her completely to be good to my pets and to my home. She is dependable and always on time. She goes above and beyond (ie sometimes pets would make little messes she'd clean up). I have no reservations about giving her a top recommendation.
I highly recommend Danica as a dog sitter. She has stayed in our home on three separate occasions to watch our very spoiled dog and she went above and beyond everything we asked her to do. Danica truly loves animals, is incredibly responsible, trustworthy and a truly lovely and compassionate young woman. We recently moved from a single family home to an apartment. This was quite an adjustment for our 11 year old dog. When Danica came to sit shortly after we made the move, our dog was a bit anxious once she saw our suitcases come out of the closet. Danica went out of her way to ease our dogs insecurity and spend extra time with her. We are so appreciative of the effort and care she put into watching our sweet girl. I really cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Danica as our dog sitter - she is the best!
Danica is wonderful with dogs. She is kind, compassionate and very sensitive to their needs. We have a very shy dog who is very cautious around strangers but she took to Danica right away. Danica is very playful and seems to have a natural sense of what dogs need. Additionally, she is responsible, organized, and caring.

We are very respectful and conscientious as guests in your home and will carefully follow guidelines you outline, touching base with you to clarify as needed. Our indoor cat and dogs Danica has had in the past have been very curious about the outdoors so we are mindful of the safety of pets when we are coming or going.

Please let us know if your pet has any special needs, things that set them off, etc so we can be mindful of their needs. If you have a pet that needs to be let out every few hours, unless you have someone who can come by for a midday walk or “potty” outside, we are probably not the best fit as our work schedules do not always allow us to leave midday Monday through Thursday (unless you are located very close by to one of the facilities we work at)
A typical day
We know each pet had different needs and are happy to play with your pet, take them out for walks, etc so the routine you keep with them can be followed as closely as possible to keep consistency while you are away.

Availability
We each work slightly different schedules, so typically one or both of us can be there spending time with your pet(s) overnight, until about 8-9am in the mornings, and between 3 and 4pm and onwards in the afternoon/evening. Danica and occasionally Ariana are off on Fridays, and we are also available to spend lots of time with your pets on weekends.
