Pet care experience
Professional Trainer & Pet Care
What sets me apart is that I bring the knowledge and perspective of a professional trainer and behavior consultant to every visit. Pet care is about much more than feeding, walking, or potty breaks—it is about understanding behavior, recognizing body language, and supporting each animal’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. I use modern, science-based, force-free methods and tailor every visit to your pet’s personality, age, health, routine, and preferences. Whether your companion enjoys a neighborhood walk, enrichment activities, training games, sniffing adventures, or quiet companionship, my goal is to create a positive, low-stress experience built on trust, choice, and respect. I am especially dedicated to helping puppies develop positive early experiences through age-appropriate socialization, confidence-building, gentle handling, and foundational life skills. I also enjoy supporting older dogs as they encounter new environments, people, animals, and activities at their own pace. Dogs of any age can benefit from carefully planned experiences that help them feel safer, more confident, and better able to navigate the world around them. A unique aspect of my practice is the integration of therapeutic touch into my work with animals. When appropriate and with your permission, I incorporate gentle, hands-on techniques that may promote relaxation, reduce stress and muscle tension, increase body awareness, and support overall well-being. Therapeutic touch can complement positive reinforcement training by helping an animal feel calmer, more comfortable, and better able to learn and engage. I am professionally insured and bonded, Pet CPR and First Aid Certified through Animal Behavior College, and committed to continued professional education and hands-on learning. I also volunteer with the Behavior Team at Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control, where I work with dogs and cats of different ages, backgrounds, temperaments, and behavioral needs. I have a particular interest in puppies, senior pets, fearful and anxious animals, and strengthening the relationship between people and their companion animals through compassionate, individualized care.

Ratings and reviews
This letter serves as a recommendation for Cynthia B., who graduated with honors from Animal Behavior College’s Dog Obedience Instructor Training Program. I am a Program Manager and Certification Specialist employed by Animal Behavior College (ABC). My sole responsibility is to monitor and assess each individual as they progress through ABC’s Dog Obedience Instructor Training Program by counseling, advising; and continuously interacting with them. Cynthia Brandenburg was my learner from July 14, 2021 to July 1, 2022, and proved to be an exemplary student who not only completed our program but graduated with honors. Due to her hard work, she consistently scored 90 percent or above on every exam within our program. Cynthia B. was extremely conscientious about her work and has demonstrated a high level of attention to detail as well as impeccable student conduct. I have included a detailed list of the areas of study Cynthia B. completed with us, they are as follows: A Basic Study of Canines, Learning Theory, A Trainer’s Toolbox, Training Basics, How to Teach Basic Obedience, Learning the Art of Effective Problem Solving, Safety, Public Speaking and Teaching Group Class, Business Building, an Externship consisting of an average of 20 hours under the guidance of a Mentor trainer and Review, and a Final Exam. Thank you for your interest in our graduate; we hope this assists you in your decision.

Schedule
Pet care isn't something I fit into my schedule—it's what my schedule is built around. I own and operate a force-free training and behavior business, and my days are centered on caring for dogs and cats through training, behavior consultations, therapeutic touch, walks, and drop-in visits. I also volunteer with Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control, working hands-on with shelter dogs and cats to support their welfare, confidence, and adoptability. I intentionally schedule appointments to ensure every pet receives dedicated, unhurried, one-on-one attention rather than feeling rushed. I regularly participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with modern, science-based, force-free training and behavior practices. Because of my background in training and behavior, I pay close attention to each pet's physical and emotional well-being and will let you know if I notice any changes that may be important. Whether your companion needs an enriching walk, a fun and engaging visit, or simply calm companionship and routine care, my goal is for every pet to feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for while you're away.
