PhD by Degree, Dog Lover by Nature!

Pet care experience

From fostering dogs with heartworm and post-surgery needs to building trust with the most timid rescues, I’ve cared for dogs in all kinds of situations. My experience goes beyond the basics—I understand how to read body language, support anxious pups, and manage specialized routines with patience and care. I hold a PhD in Nutrition, and while my focus has been on human health, I bring that same passion and knowledge to giving animals the healthy, happy lives they deserve. I’m attentive, experienced, and deeply committed to the well-being of every dog in my care. I can’t replace you in your dog’s life, but I can give you both the peace of mind you deserve while you're apart--whether it be for days at a time or just a short walk.

Fantastic sitter! He was the third I’ve used on here and by far the best! He took Sammy last minute which was such a help for me. He treated him like his own and sent pictures and updates which I really appreciate. I get anxious leaving him with strangers. He put all concern a side. Don’t hesitate hiring this guy! One of the best in care and price! 🐕

Safety, trust & environment

In my home, pets are treated like family—often even better than the humans! 😄 I live in a spacious two-bedroom apartment, so there’s plenty of room for dogs to feel comfortable and move around freely. Dogs are always welcome on the bed and couches, and I keep fresh water available in every room to make sure they stay hydrated and happy. Whether it’s in my home or yours, I aim to create a calm, cozy environment where each dog feels safe, loved, and completely at ease. I follow any routines or preferences you provide and always pay close attention to each dog’s comfort and well-being.

Information Cody H. would like to know about your pet

I don't have any specific preferences, though I always appreciate knowing any special considerations I should make for your pet, whether it be things I can do to comfort or entertain them, what their normal routine is so that I can try to match it, or things to avoid to keep them calm and happy. Communication is key to ensuring I take the best possible care of your pet.

A typical day

When I’m watching pets, I love to keep them happy, active, and comfortable—so I tailor activities to what they enjoy most. I’m always up for playing with their favorite toys, whether that’s a good game of fetch, tug-of-war with a rope toy, or just tossing around a squeaky ball. I also enjoy hiding small treats around the house or yard for them to sniff out—it’s a fun way to keep their minds engaged and give them a little challenge. If they enjoy walks, I’m happy to take them out for some fresh air and exercise. Car rides and hikes aren't off the table either! And of course, there’s always time for snuggles and belly rubs if that’s their thing! My goal is to make sure they feel loved, entertained, and relaxed while you’re away.

I work mostly remotely, which allows me to be present and attentive throughout the day. My own dog gets three walks a day—totaling about 90 minutes—and we rarely miss one. I’m happy to include your dog in those walks or adjust the schedule based on their energy level and routine. Because I’m home most of the time, I can offer a calm, consistent environment and plenty of attention. I’m flexible and always aim to cater to each dog’s individual needs—whether that means playtime, quiet companionship, or extra potty breaks.
