I have been the owner of a pitbull for a little over three years, and discovered that, despite thinking myself a cat person, that dogs are kinda awesome. Also a lot of work. They seem to really like me, though. I bring something calm and quiet to an interaction, and dogs seem to like that.

My home is an apartment, but it has some lawn to it. My dog can be trusted to play fetch -- I understand that some dogs don't have the recall for that, so I also have a long line. Sidewalks are available for walks, and there's a dog park within a 5 minute drive. Most dogs I watch choose to sleep either in my bed, or on the couch, and I'm cool with that. I'm dog-proofed, for the most part!
