Pet care experience
My family has owned pets my entire life, and I always took an active role in caring for them. Friends have also relied on me to house and pet sit for them. I have pet insurance by PCI, and can give shots, administer eye, ear, and oral medicine, lift heavy dogs with problems walking, and apply spray and spot-on treatment.
Reviews

Always appreciative of the care the boys receive when I'm gone. I never have to worry.

This was the first time I boarded my dog Cooper with Christianna & Mary and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! They were incredible – from the start, they communicated with us so well and kept us updated throughout Cooper’s stay. We received plenty of videos and photos, which really put our minds at ease and made us feel like we were right there with our pup. Cooper is back home with us today happy and relaxed, which is a true testament to how well he was cared for. It was obvious Cooper was in great hands, and I’d absolutely trust them with my Cooper again in the future. Highly recommend!

I can tell she genuinely loves animals! I completely felt comfortable leaving my sweet boy with her and will definitely book again!

Christianna and Mary were very helpful with my pups stay, they kept me updated on a daily basis and told me about my pups day, I would definitely used them in the future for a smaller pet. I recommend their services.

Safety, trust & environment
We have hard floors in the house and a big, fully fenced back yard which is picked up daily to maintain a safe and clean environment. There is also a lead available if required. There is one senior cat that is indoor / outdoor. For the safety of all pets, first time guests will need to have a kennel sent with them and will spend a minimum of their first night in it, with a possibility of kenneling overnight for the duration of their stay/future stays. This is determined on a case-by-case basis, and kennels will be placed either in the livingroom or the back office. Pets will also be kenneled or otherwise separated when I'm not at home to directly supervise them. Care is based on owner's preferences, and I want to be sure your dog gets care and treatment consistent with what he's used to. Please be aware that any items that your pup will need must be sent with them. Your pup will need food for the stay plus two days' worth (in case of spillage or vomiting), bowls, any medications or supplements with detailed instructions, an ID, pee pads and/or diapers or wraps if incontinent, prone to marking, or in heat*, and a kennel. Please also consider a scoop if food is measured, bed, toy (nothing sentimental), leash, harness for walks, seat belt attachment, and a favorite blanket or other article that smells like home and will help your pup relax. (Please see the second photo on my profile; otherwise, I'll text the day before to touch base and send a packing list!) If your pup runs out of food during their stay, I will reach out and you can have more delivered, or I can buy more with reimbursement. *I do not book females in heat. This is for the safety of all boarders because estrus pheromones can linger. This makes it difficult to safely board males during or immediately after a dog in heat, as they may direct their excitement into inappropriate behavior such as humping or increased reactivity. Female dogs typically go into heat every six months, and owners are responsible for tracking their dog's cycle. If an owner fails to disclose that their dog is due for their heat cycle before booking and it begins before or during their stay, I reserve the right to cancel the stay. If I choose to continue the stay and the dog is dropped off without diapers, I will purchase some and add their cost, as well as a cleaning fee of between $15-$35, to her stay. Accidents are expected! Your pet is in a new and unfamiliar place, and I'm prepared to clean up an initial nervous poo or two. That said, guests must be house trained to a point where they alert a person of a need to go out. Dogs may receive selective grooming at no charge if it's deemed necessary for them to continue their stay safely and comfortably. I may add apple cider vinegar to drinking water to mitigate odors, or apply some to red, irritated skin to help alleviate itching, antibiotic to scratches or sores, lavender oil to the ears and forehead of an anxious dog. Excessively long claws may be trimmed to alleviate pain and protect our wood floors. Long, stained fur may be trimmed, especially if it is matted, caked, or a matter of sanitation. A dog that arrives dirty or becomes dirty during their stay will be bathed. If a guest is found to have fleas, their owner will be informed and they will be given a flea bath. I may also administer clove infused water and/or food grade diatomaceous earth to their coats. Because fleas are a very serious threat to the safety, health, and wellbeing of my pet, my household, and other guests, a dog who arrives with an obvious infestation (that is, he or she has an established colony with clear signs of flea waste) will incur a $50 deep cleaning fee. While I often have only one guest at a time, I am able to accommodate several dogs at once, and from different households! The yard has plenty of room to run and play and make new friends. If your pup does not want to make new friends, my home may not be the best fit for his preferences. Please inquire about other guests if this is the case. To ensure a stay is a good fit for all involved, and so the owner can see where their pup will be staying, I require a meet and greet with the prospective pet present for every boarding with the exception of a booking that adheres to three criteria: ° It's so last minute that there isn't time for one °the booking is for no longer than two nights °I have no other boarders scheduled during the requested dates No dogs with a bite history, either animal or human, will be accepted, nor will any dogs not completely vaccinated or puppies under 4 months of age. I will update you at least once every day! I will send photos and/or videos and a brief summary of the day's activities and your pup's behaviors, playtimes, and any new friends they made! I typically watch around 3 dogs at a time, but occasionally watch up to 5 or 6. This is determined on a case-by-case basis. To accept a stay when my normal 3 slots are full, I will consider the dogs I have on my calendar, whether they've met and get along, whether any of them have extra or specialized needs, etc. I will always try to accommodate where I can within the boundaries of what is safe for my boarders and my cat. The Rover Guarantee covers incidents that occur during or as a result of your pet's stay. For an added layer of security and peace of mind, I also have an active insurance policy through PCI. Information Christianna & Mary B. would like to know about your pet
The most important things for me to know are that: °your pet is kennel trained ° your pet is up to date on all their vaccinations and flea and tick prevention, and °that they tolerate cats. So that I may offer the best care possible, I will need to know °if they have allergies, food sensitivities, or special needs °what kinds of challenges will present themselves (behavior-wise, bladder-wise, etc) °if they take any medicine or supplements and how often °if there is any anxiety and what routines or methods you as the owner have found most effective in calming and comforting your anxious pup °if your pup is allowed on furniture and what other behaviors or training you are trying to encourage or discourage °their veterinary clinic info, preferred emergency vet, and a backup contact* in case I cannot reach you *Chances are, if I cannot reach you, I cannot reach anyone you might be with. For that reason, I ask that your backup contact be someone who will not be enjoying the same trip that you are. This is to ensure that they will have cell service and the availability to talk. They must also be someone trusted to make decisions for your pup if you are unavailable.
A typical day
I can take your pets on walks around the neighborhood, to a local beach, or let them run around our half acre back yard! I require a harness for walks and encourage owners to send a toy for playtime. (Due to the nature of multiple dog boarding, please don't send anything sentimental!) Dogs are never left unsupervised when outside, but they may spend 1 - 6 hours of quiet time at home in their kennel during errands. With written owner permission or a provided seatbelt attachment (considered implicit permission), we may elect to bring them with if we think it would benefit and enrich their day (ex. they will stay home if the errands consist of a grocery store, a doctor's appointment, and the gym. They may come with us if we're going to dog friendly places* like an outdoor concert, a historical reenactment, a farm or park, a pet store, etc.). Packing a seat belt attachment is encouraged, and dogs will never be left alone in the car. *Because I can only control the dog I have, I will not take your pup to a dog park or any place meant for unleashed dogs.

Availability
I have open availability and a lot of flexibility and can even be booked on short notice! Please be aware that I cannot hold dates without a fully confirmed booking paid through Rover and that my services are available on a first come, first served basis. Potty breaks are every 2-3 hours, or as needed, with the exception of errands that take me out of the house for up to 6 hours. The last potty break of the evening is the last thing that happens before I go to bed. This is normally around midnight or a little later, and days begin between 8am and 10am. I accept drop-offs and pick-ups between 7am and 8pm. These times may be flexible, but please check ahead. To ensure that your pup stays covered by the Rover Guarantee in the event of a late pick-up, the following late pick-up rates may apply up until 8pm*: 0-2 hours past pick-up time: booking will be extended at no cost 2-8 hours past pick-up time: booking will be extended at 50% nightly rate 8+ hours past pick-up time: 100% nightly rate applies Please note that this is not extended care. Because nights are calculated every 24 hours, an extended care rate is added to any booking that has a planned pick-up time 2 or more hours later the drop-off time. I offer a similar 2 hour grace period to late pick-ups where possible/applicable, so the above rates apply to pick-ups more than 2 hours past your scheduled pick-up time. *Dependant on my availability (ie, previous obligations up to or past 8pm), an extra night may be added to the booking at any time past a dog's scheduled pick-up window. After 8pm, an extra night will be added to the booking with pick-up rescheduled for the following day. I am also available for constant care in special cases depending on scheduling! Constant care means your pup will never be left alone for more than one hour. Constant care: $150/night Puppies: +$25/night Holiday: +$25/night
