Safety, trust & environment

I play with cats who want it, refill their food and water bowls, scoop the litterbox, and send photos to the cat parents. I can do daily visits or every other day, depending on your needs. Usually a half hour visit is sufficient.

Information Cheryl J. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know about your cat's personality, if they are shy, curious, playful or scared of new people. Do they like playing with toys? Are they escape artists I need to watch more carefully?

A typical day

I have found many cats enjoy chasing feathers on a string or a stick. Some like to play fetch with toys or objects like bottle caps. I adjust to your cat. I've had some very timid cats who started out hiding in the beginning but were out and feeling secure by the end of the week. Some stay shy, and that's okay. I am respectful of being in their home, just checking that they are doing well.

Cat care experience

I have broad experience with cats, having loved them my whole life. Professionally, I loved caring for cats through Dotty's Petsittting Service in Seattle for two years and had several regular clients. Please check out my testimonials. Some cat clients were social and playful, while some were timid and slow to warm up. I really enjoyed them, and many of my "regulars" I missed a LOT when I had to stop and moved away. I have only one cat at home, now that my senior cat passed away (at age 14) but I raised both from kittens. I brought the older male with me when I moved here from Seattle. My girl adult (almost 9) is in good health. She is my Hawaiian rescue kitty!

Cheryl is again a wonderful and caring sitter. She gives very good descriptions of what my pet is doing, temperament, and food/bathroom details. I don’t worry as I know my pet is in good hands.

Cheryl was great! Very friendly and communicative with Keiki. She took great photos, always checked in, and Keiki loved her. I will use Cheryl again.

When I lived in Seattle, Cheryl was an amazing petsitter for my two cats. She was extremely reliable and communicative, always providing updates to let me know how things were going while I was away. I knew my cats were well cared for and had lots of play time. I was so sad when Cheryl moved to Hawaii, but I'm happy to hear she'll be catsitting again for some lucky kitties. 😺
