From Shih Tzus to Shepherds!
Hey, I’m Cayla—your go-to dog-loving neighbor with a lifetime of experience and a heart full of care! I grew up surrounded by dogs, and my grandmother’s long-haired Shih Tzus made sure I learned early how to handle a brush, give the gentlest care, and truly understand a dog’s needs. Over the years, I became “Nanny Cayla” to my aunt’s full pack—ranging from a high-anxiety Australian shepherd (who trusted no one but me!) to a chihuahua, a terrier, a Doberman, and yes, even another Shih Tzu. When they went out of town, they relied on me to keep their pups happy, safe, and loved—especially their sweet but nervous shepherd. These days, I often care for my neighbor’s Akita, Kita. Whether they’re stuck at work or out of town, I’m their trusted walker and backup dog mom. From big breeds to tiny lapdogs, I’m confident and comfortable giving each one the love, exercise, and attention they need. I can’t say enough great things about Cayla as a dog walker! From the very first time of meeting my dog, it was clear she genuinely loves animals and treat every dog like her own. Cayla has many different experiences with taking care of animals. She always helped me with my dogs while I was away at college or on trips. She did an amazing job taking care of all four of the dogs, making sure their needs were met and giving them love and attention in my absence. She is very caring towards animals and loves to be around them. She also sent updates on how my pets were doing while looking after them. She is an animal person who is responsible and can create bonds with the animals she tends to.

I follow all instructions to a T—no shortcuts, no exceptions, and definitely no bending the rules (even when those puppy dog eyes are working overtime!). I understand how important it is to maintain your pet’s routine and boundaries, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is simple: to help out fellow pet parents and enjoy some furry companionship during my off time. Being around animals brings me genuine joy, and I approach each visit or walk with care, patience, and respect—just like I would if they were my own. Whether I’m dropping in for a visit, going on an evening walk, or just offering a little love and attention while you’re away, your pet will get my full focus and care every single time.

A day with me as your pet sitter is basically a mini staycation for your furry friend! We’ll start with all the essentials—meals served just the way they like, fresh water, and potty breaks or litter scoops to keep things tidy. From there, it’s all about fun and comfort! If your pet’s the energetic type, get ready for walks full of sniff stops, games of fetch, or backyard zoomies. If they’re more of the chill variety, we’ll enjoy some cozy cuddle time, window watching, or lazy lounging with belly rubs on demand. Got a cat with a favorite toy? A dog that lives for squeaky ball time? I’m all in. Throughout the day, I’ll keep things light, loving, and just how you would do it—right down to the treats (only if allowed!) and bedtime routines. Your pet will be safe, happy, and entertained, and you’ll get plenty of cute updates to make you smile while you’re away.
