Pet care experience
Growing up I took care of small animals (hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish) and now I own a sweet shy kitty and two fun energetic dogs. Rescuing these animals has been one of the highlights of my life! They truly bring so much joy. I am very much a cat person by nature, but I have also become so delighted by dogs. :) We love hiking, going on adventures and camping with our puppies. I have been a human caregiver as an ICU nurse for over a decade. I'm very comfortable with medications and administration. One of our dogs struggles with allergies, and our cat has had some kidney and bladder issues, so I have experience giving pets medications and monitoring symptoms.

Cacia is so patient and calm around my fraidy-cats, even though they don’t want anything to do with anyone but me. I was glad to see she got even a little interaction from them! She goes above and beyond, and I’ll definitely book again if she’s willing! 😁

We have a fenced in yard, so our dogs enjoy playing outside. I love hiking and taking them for long walks! We are very diligent about keeping our dogs on a leash. Both of our dogs were rescued at a young age, and we did puppy training classes with them. We used clicker training and positive reinforcement methods. The cat rules her roost upstairs and we have a gate at the bottom of the stairs to keep her safe space dog-free.

I'm not the biggest person in the world, so if you have a really large, high energy dog who isn't well leash trained it might be challenging for me to control them.
A typical day
I love staying active and getting outside, in all seasons and all weather. If your dog is up for a walk I'm game! Our dogs also like playing fetch, tug of war, being chased around, all sorts of goofy games. :)

Availability
I'm a night shift nurse who enjoys pet sitting on the side. Dog walking is like free therapy! I love spending time with animals and getting snuggles. My shift schedule varies, but I am often available either in the mornings after work or in the late afternoon and early evening once I'm up for the day. Due to my work schedule fluctuating a fair bit, I'm not a good fit for anyone looking to establish a weekly walk schedule. I can definitely do short term and supplemental care!
