Doggie Home Away From Home
After 28 years of doggie parenting, my wife and I have started mixing travel with dogsitting. We have just completed our second five-month trip through Europe, dogsitting over 1/2 of the time. In our first year we enjoyed the fabulous company of Beau and Sox in Port Rush Northern Ireland, Muffin in Budapest, Truman in Interlaken Switzerland and Cooper in Southern Spain. My wife wasn't ready to come back to Canadian winter so is doing another three sits in California to extend her adventure another 6 weeks. In our second season, we had a repeat sits with Beau and Socks in Northern Ireland, and Cooper in his new home in Gibraltar. We spent a month with the adorable Frankie in Caparica Portugal, and shorter stints with Leo in Seville, and Jerome and Cardy in Belgrade Serbia. We finished the season with four yorkies, Minnie Mitzee Lillie and Niko in Cyprus and two more yorkies, Peanut and Heidi in Malta. I am excited to be back in the Koots for the next several months and looking forward to welcoming returning pups and new canine friends into our home and treat them like family, so you can have a worry-free vacation knowing they will be well cared for. I am retired and spend most of my time at home. My wife, a long-term volunteer with the BC SPCA including several years on the board of directors, works at home so 24-hour-a-day care is easy to provide if needed when she is not dog-sitting elsewhere. In 2022 we lost our 16-year-old lab Koda who spent the last two years of his life in a geriatric condition so are very comfortable with and well-equipped to care for seniors. We are in a rural setting with several fabulous options for walking nearby.

Bob's home was the perfect place for our girls while we were out of town. Bob kept us in the loop many times with how their stay was going and sent us pictures so we could see how much fun they were having. When I picked them up after returning home, they were so happy and comfortable at Bob's, that it made me feel so delighted to know how much care they had recieved over the week. We already have another stay booked with Bob and I know the girls will be so thrilled to return. Couldn't recommend Bob's home enough!
Bob and his wife are truly the best! My dog usually get anxious when I left her with stranger for the first few days. Only at the second time I bring Skippy over Bob's house, she went all by herself, tail wagging. First time ever for my dog! I can also feel the love they already have for my dog. They will give the best care to your pet. I strongly recommend this lovely couple for you pet! I would rate with 10 stars if I could! I cannot be thankful enough!
Barkley stayed with Bob and ML for 5 weeks while we were away. We were beyond happy with how well cared for he was with lots of adventures and fun times. We received frequent updates and photos and Bob and ML were comfortable with Barkley’s ‘quirks’ and loved him as their own. We’ll no doubt book again, Barkley hopes we do!
What a great experience!! I had complete peace of mind that my dog was being well cared for while be stayed at their house this week. Bob was very accommodating and did a fantastic job keeping me updated and sending photos. Their home and yard were a perfect fit for my giant dog. Thanks for everything!! I know my dog will be eager for another visit in the future :)

Bob was the best Rover experience we’ve had yet! Him and his wife have a GORGEOUS home and property. He met us at the door with fresh salmon for our pups! They have tons of dog experience and experience with quirky northern pups (we have two huskies). They were in the absolute best hands on their vacation with Bob and I’m sure the pups now miss him lots. It was wonderful that we could relax knowing they were in such a terrific home with the kindest and best people!!

Programa
I am retired so can easily adapt to the needs of your pup. I like to get daily exercise so can keep them as active as they want to be walking or playing in our large fenced yard.

I recognize that every dog has unique needs and their own routine. I have thoroughly enjoyed caring for about 60 different pups in the past two years each with their own quirks. I do my best to understand their needs, make them happy and feel at home.
Un día normal
We have a variety of doggie recreation options nearby. My fenced yard is about 1/3 acre so room to run, play fetch, may even a little squirrel chasing. There are two great dog walking trails within a few minutes walk of my house. A 3 minute drive takes us to either the Slocan Valley Rail Trail for walking, biking or XC skiing, or Crescent Valley Beach for water play or doggie socialization. I'm retired and like daily exercise so will have no problem keeping your pup active.
