Hello my name is Avery and I absolutely adore pets. Starting in May I’ll be available again for the summer to pet sit again! I moved to New York about three years ago. I have 10+ years experience watching, walking, and taking care of my own and other people's pets. I have two wonderful cats named Emmet and Nelson, but I'm so sad I had to leave my parents dogs behind and the other wonderful pets that I have been watching over the years when we moved. I’m in school right now but during the summer I'm a freelance artist and since I work from home, I think it'd be wonderful to be able to give your pets some attention to break up my work day and fill the hole I have in my heart from leaving my pet friends behind. I have experience taking care of young and very elderly pets. I have also taken care of Turtles, Bunnies, Guinea Pigs, and Lizards along with numerous cats and dogs, so I'm open to whatever kind of pet you have! I'm looking forward to meeting your pets!

Avery did an amazing job of looking after my cat Cleo. Cleo usually hides when people come over but in all of the photos Avery sent, Cleo was hanging out and giving kisses. I could tell Avery really is a cat person and I knew Cleo was in good hands. I would 100% recommend Avery and I know Cleo will be happy to see her the next time I am away.

I follow the owners directions exactly and having two cats myself I’m very familiar with cats temperaments and respectful of the special needs each individual cat needs to feel comfortable around someone who isn’t their owner. :)

Depending on the owners instructions during a typical 30 minute visit I will first make sure the cats food is filled and empty and replenish the water with fresh water, clean the litter and then for the remainder of the visit I will hang out with the cat in its preferred way - whether that be play time, pets, or simply just having someone in the apartment to keep an eye on for a little bit so they don’t feel so alone!
