Absolute animal lover

Pet care experience

I’ve grown up my whole life helping take care of several animals. First it was dogs, cats, and birds that my mom would usually find off the street. In high school I started really getting into reptiles. At 18, I applied for a pet store and mainly stuck with the pet/animal industry since. I am now 22 currently a dog stylist/groomer.

Athena was perfect! She stayed at my place with my pup. When I got back, the house was clean and my dog was well taken care of! Thank you again Athena!!!

Athena did a wonderful job watching our cat. Our home was spotless, she gave regular updates, and kept everything running smoothly. She even went above and beyond taking care of our chickens. I couldn’t ask for a better pet sitter!

Athena is the most trustworthy and caring person I know when it comes to animals. She's been around all kinds of pets her whole life—dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc. Not only has she had them as pets, but she's also worked and trained professionally at a few places, so she really knows her stuff. She genuinely loves being around animals and taking care of them, and I'd trust her with my own without thinking twice. Anyone looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, and loving pet caregiver won't find a better person than Athena.

Safety, trust & environment

Before I ever house sit I always want to meet the pets and pet parents within the week before the first day of pet sitting in order to make sure the animals know me and get along but also to make sure I’m going to be a good fit for you and our schedules. Drop ins and walks are included in this rule if pet parent will not be present at first drop in or walk. These rules are in place for both the safety of me and the pet because it is always good to let an animal get to know a stranger first. I also like to discuss how pet parent usually cares for pet so I can try to replicate. Please don’t be afraid to make a list, they are the best reminders! This includes bathroom schedule, feeding schedule, placement of essentials(toys, food, leashes, bowls, ect), training/exercise, and the rules of the house. I always make sure that when I leave it’s like I was never there. A popular question I heard from customers was “Did you use the bed? You were allowed to use the bed.” I in fact used the bed 😊

Information Athena B. would like to know about your pet

I am always down to do what I can to accommodate for a pets needs! Let me know if they are special needs, behavior and health issues so we can communicate and find out if I’m a good fit. As a dog stylist/groomer, I experience dogs of all ages and conditions. From young to old, healthy to ill. I’ve experienced seizures, arthritis, heart disease, collapsing trachea, blind, deaf, and much more.

A typical day

I’m a pretty active person and when it comes to dog sitting I love to use that energy with them. I try to keep things as normal as possible for the dogs so I’ll play tug of war, run around the yard, and go for walks usually for however long the dog wants to go. If the pet parent does agility training and tricks that they would like to have kept up with while gone I don’t mind doing so. I just ask to be showed exactly how they like to do things with their pups. If pet parents likes to go to dogs parks/beaches I don’t mind doing that as well.
