Pet care experience
I’ve taken care of neighbors dogs since I was in elementary school and picking up poo since I could walk. I had a stint of being crazy about guinea pigs but family allergies didn’t allow me to ever own my own or bring them home. I grew up wanting a cat but family allergies once again prevented. Neighbors and friends had a large variety of pets so I’ve watched ball python’s, Guinea pigs, cats, fish, turtles, dogs, and birds.

Ashley was absolutely amazing! I have 3 kitties who are very high maintenance (age, behavior, etc.) and she handled them totally amazingly. They were in great hands and I felt very reassured, if you’re looking for a pet sitter, this is your person!
We will sadly miss Ashley. I have a 5 year old pit bull rescue, Guinevere. She has been through a lot before I got her three years ago so doesn't trust easily. I was very lucky in being introduced to Ashley. She took time with Gwen to put her at ease and she just loves her. Most people are slight put off and afraid of her because of her size and breed. Ashley treated like the sweet puppy she is. I don't like to keep Gwen locked up while I'm at work for hours at a time. So Ashley would come over and walk her mornings and early evenings. Some days Gwen being stubborn would want to walk so Ashley would stay in the backyard and let her sunbath. If the weather was bad she would just sit in the bathroom with Gwen. Gwen is very afraid of loud noises and storms fall into that so she will but herself into the bath tub until it ends. Never had a dog do that but Ashley didn't seem to mine. She would send pictures with updates when I wanted. She will very much be missed by Gwen and myself.
Ashley is the definition of a dog person. Not only having multiple dogs herself, but I have seen her confidently handle up to six large dogs in a controlled manner. She is great with reinforcing good behaviors, pet safety/care, and post importantly dog pampering.
Ashley loves dogs! And dogs love Ashley! Ashley provides tender loving care to all pets. Ashley is very conscientious about the pets in her care. She makes sure there is fresh water available, up-to-date vet checks and anything else needed for the welfare of the pet.

My dogs are crate trained but one is 12 and she is still scared of being locked in a kennel for long periods of time so she is allowed to roam when no one is home. She also thinks the cat is her baby so as long as she can’t get into his litter box they are golden.

Please let me know if there are any specific needs for your pet, be it medication or a special exercise routine. Having a senior dog, I have to track her urine output and give her medication based on her condition, so I understand that some dogs have unique needs.
A typical day
I believe dogs need both exercise and mental stimulation. I chase the dogs around but also give them time with puzzles and toys. Only one of my dogs is food-motivated, so I understand the difficulty of training non-food-motivated dogs. I enjoy letting the dogs smell anything as long as they don’t try to eat it or roll in it. Sometimes we walk trails and other times we just walk around the block.

I have three dogs and a cat of my own, so while I can not board dogs, I take online classes, so my schedule is pretty flexible.
