Since I was a young child, I have always lived with and loved animals. My grandmother had a huge influence in teaching me to love and care for them, and how to read their body language. I started caring for pets in elementary school, taking care of their cats and fish when our neighbors went on vacation. I have owned many beloved pets throughout my childhood, including cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, and parrots. I currently have a cat named Kita. I enrolled in a veterinary course, where I studied animal anatomy and worked with and cared for the classroom pets. I also volunteered with Cats in Need, a no-kill non-profit organization that partners with PetSmart to provide permanent homes for cats. I am currently studying for a degree in biology, with a focus on zoology. My goal is to study and work directly with wild animals to conserve them.
