I’ve been volunteering with animals since I was 8 years old, which gave me a strong foundation in responsibility, compassion, and hands-on animal care from a young age. Over the years, I’ve worked with animals of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, learning how to approach each one with patience and understanding. Volunteering taught me how important consistency, gentle handling, and careful observation are when caring for pets. In addition to volunteering, I have pets of my own, so I understand firsthand the daily commitment that comes with being a pet owner. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your animal, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I pay close attention to routines, feeding schedules, behavior changes, and overall comfort to make sure they feel safe and secure. I also worked as a kennel technician, where I cared for animals in a structured, professional environment. In this role, I gained experience with proper handling techniques, maintaining clean and sanitary spaces, monitoring for signs of stress or illness, and ensuring each animal’s needs were met efficiently and safely. Working in that setting strengthened my ability to stay calm, organized, and attentive, even in busy environments. Animal care has always been a consistent and meaningful part of my life. It’s not just something I do, it’s something I genuinely care about and take pride in.
