Hi there! My name is Ariadne, I’m a PhD student working from home, and I’m super excited to have the opportunity to take care of your best friend! I definitely understand that life doesn’t always run to schedule - maybe you’re stuck at work late for a meeting, or you’re planning a holiday and want to make sure your pets stay comfortable in their own environment; that’s exactly why John and I are here. We offer personalized, knowledgeable, and friendly care, giving you complete peace of mind that both your pets and your home are safe, secure, and well looked after while you’re away. We provide house sitting (overnight stays), as well as daycare, walks, and drop-in visits, either at your place or ours (within a reasonable distance). We live in a flat with easy access to a charming woodland with year-round walking paths. Whether you need weekly daytime support or someone dependable to stay with your pets while you travel, we tailor our care to their routines, personalities, and needs. We have over 3 years of combined experience through Rover (daycare and boarding) and TrustedHouseSitters (house and pet sitting), with entirely positive ratings across both platforms. We’re comfortable with a wide range of animals, temperaments, and care requirements, and we pride ourselves on communication, reliability, and treating every pet as if they were our own. I (Ariadne) have personally grown up around rescue dogs my entire life, and have been taking care of dogs generally for about 12 years. I have used Rover in both the UK and the US and maintained a 5-star review with several repeat clients in both. I am very capable of handling all sorts of furry companions from miniscule to giant, young to old, and sociable to territorial/reactive. Dog, cat, bird, and reptile friendly! Hey, I’m John! I am an environmental economist with hybrid hours. I have several years of experience with dogs, rabbits, and lizards and am keen to help out in any way I can. Especially when there are multiple pets to care for, in our experience having two people allows us to give your pets the individual attention they deserve. With that said, we are aware that some dogs have specific handling needs or gender preferences, so we’re happy for just one of us to take care of them. We also have a small car that we are happy to use for short excursions - dog seatbelts included of course!

We’re happy to follow the instructions and preferences set by the owner. The main focus is to make your pet feel safe and that they can trust us. We are always careful to not force ourselves onto your animal, we prefer to let them come to us and check us out on their own time.

This was the first time leaving our newly rescued bulldog and Ariadne was amazing. She also looked after our nearly 12-year-old senior boxer at the same time. The updates throughout the day really put our nerves at ease. From the very beginning, Ariadne took the time to understand both of their routines, quirks, and needs to make sure they felt completely secure. We returned to two happy, relaxed pups, and it was clear how much genuine attention she gave them both while we were away. Communication was fantastic from start to finish—getting photos and message updates completely melted away our anxiety. We couldn’t recommend Ariadne highly enough and will definitely be booking with her again!
Ariadne and John looked after our Dalmatian puppy, and she absolutely loved her time with both of them! From the start, it was clear they were attentive, caring, and experienced. They kept us updated with photos and messages, showing her relaxing and sniffing away. She came home happy, well-exercised, and clearly loved. We felt completely at ease knowing she was in such great hands. Highly recommended!

I can't thank Ariadne and John enough for looking after Sadie for the week. Sadie is a nervous dog and reactive, with other personality quirks so finding the right sitter was really important for us. After chatting on the app and then doing a meet and greet we knew she would be happy with them, and they had the experience to deal with her issues. During her stay we were kept up to date with photos and updates, which was brilliant. Ariande and John we were also very patient, as while Sadie is fully house trained, she will only do her business in the garden, not on walks. Sadly she also decided that their garden was not suitable, we think it's a nervous issue, so she had accidents in the house. We are very sorry for this as its not something we have experienced with her before, but Ariadne and John were patient with her and kept us informed. I would 100% recommend them as sitters and genuinely lovely people, thank you again guys, you were amazing!
Ariadne & John were fantastic with our lively dogs. They kept me updated throughout and we got back happy dogs!
Ariadne and John were very welcoming to Amigo and he instantly seemed to make himself at home for his two night stay. They sent through some nice pictures of him getting out and about, and and also getting really comfortable! All in all I would be happy for 'Migo to stay with Ariadne and John again.

Programa
I (Ariadne) am a PhD student and as such my work days are extremely flexible and I have the freedom to work from anywhere. I (John) have a flexible hybrid job and can also work from anywhere.
