As of April 2026, I am on sabbatical from my day job so I am wide open for pet sitting! My partner Ryan works full time out of the house but he may also be present (dogs love him).

I am a homebody and happy to stay in and snuggle with dogs that have separation anxiety and/or don't do well in public settings. My own dog is old and very used to having other dogs around if yours would like a buddy while you're away (a lot of solo dogs benefit from this!) For housesitting, no other human or pet will enter your home without your express permission.

Informations que April Y. aimerait connaître au sujet de votre animal domestique
Do they have a specific feeding/walking schedule; are they allowed on furniture in their home; are they sensitive/allergic to any foods so I can provide appropriate treats; what skills, if any, can I help reinforce while I am watching them? (e.g., a trick you are working on, or a behavior you are trying to nip.) Do they like being handled/picked up? Do they have any sensitive areas I should avoid? (e.g., my big dog has arthritis so I am careful with his hips.) Where do they usually sleep?

Would discuss what you're comfortable with before taking your dogs out of the house and of course give them all the pets and scritches they could ask for!

Expérience en matière de services dédiés aux animaux de compagnie
I have a beloved 15-year old mutt of my own plus 10+ years' experience fostering and volunteering with dog rescue organizations. Throughout fostering and pet sitting, I've hosted pups of all ages, sizes, and abilities (e.g., blind, tripod, recovering from surgeries, etc.) and have training in dog behavior and socialization. Awarded "Foster Home of the Year" in 2016 by renowned Chicago animal rescue One Tail at a Time. After living/Rovering in Florida for a few years, I'm excited to be back north and have a huge yard to share with your pups!

Avis

What a find! April had such a gentle nature. She and her dogs quickly won over my clingy Princess. She had a great time and came home tired from all the fun. A great experience!

April is wonderful with our dog. She is a very down to earth caring person. I don’t have to worry about my pet for a second during his visits.

April is an amazing sitter! She is extremely thoughtful, communicative, and has a clear love for both her pets and for the pets of others! I highly recommend April and my pup absolutely adores her.

April was quick to respond and schedule, super communicative, and took such good care of my husky mix! Her love for animals is clear and I definitely recommend her services :)
