Pet care experience
Care for Every Tail & Whisker
I have two dogs of my own, a Newfoundland and a Border Collie/Aussie mix, so I’m very comfortable managing both giant breeds and high energy working dogs. Living with two very different personalities has given me hands on experience with grooming needs, exercise routines, training consistency, and understanding breed specific behaviors.

April also cares for cats. Learn about their cat-specific care experience.

Safety, trust & environment
I work remotely from home and have flexible hours, which allows me to accommodate drop in visits, walks, and overnight stays throughout the week. My schedule flexibility also means I can provide more consistent supervision and attention when needed.
Ratings and reviews
April is super dependable and easy to work with. I can tell that my dog loves being around her from the pictures and how calm she is when we get home.

The fact that we would use April again really says it all! She likes dogs and dogs really like her. She cared for the house just like a member of the family.
Great walker, can tell she really loves animals!

April was absolutely wonderful! She took great care of our dogs while we were away and gave us complete peace of mind. The dogs were happy, well cared for, and clearly loved having her there. She also went above and beyond by bringing in our packages, which we truly appreciated. We came home to a house that was left in excellent condition. We would gladly have April back anytime and highly recommend her!

April was fantastic! She played with and walked Penny quite a bit and even got her a new toy. Lots of pictures and messages. Awesome and reliable!

I can confidently recommend April as a pet sitter without hesitation. She is one of the most attentive, responsible, and genuinely caring animal lovers I know. At home, she manages two very different dogs beautifully. Moqui, her highly intelligent Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix and trained mobility service dog, thrives because of April’s consistency, structure, and love. Moqui is very devoted to her. Augie, her 160 pound Newfoundland, is equal parts drool and devotion, and he is cared for with just as much patience and love. He is a character and he knows he is loved. Handling both a giant breed and a high drive working dog speaks to her experience and calm confidence. She also watches my senior cat whenever I’m out of town, and I never have to worry. She is patient, gentle, and attentive to routines, which is especially important for older cats. She keeps everything consistent, makes sure feeding schedules are followed, and always sends thoughtful updates and photos. Beyond her own pets, April volunteers with a service dog organization training young dogs for mobility assistance roles. She also volunteers with a nonprofit that pairs veterans with shelter dogs. She has experience working with groups of dogs in structured and shelter environments, so she understands behavior, body language, and how to prevent or calmly manage conflict. April is dependable, communicates clearly, and truly treats every animal as if they were her own. Any pet in her care will be safe, well looked after, and genuinely loved.

Schedule
I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. From gentle giants to fast moving herders, I adapt my approach to what each dog needs to feel safe and happy. Pet care is already a natural part of my daily routine. With two dogs at home, my days are structured around consistent feeding schedules, walks, exercise, training, and downtime. Because of this, adding additional pets into my schedule feels seamless rather than disruptive.
