Pet care has been part of my life for several years, and I look forward to spending time with dogs every day. I’m a high school teacher and enjoy regular exercise. Over the summer, I’m available most days and times to care for your dog(s) while you’re at work.

When first meeting a dog, I move at their pace. I let them sniff me and familiarize themselves with me without getting in their face or forcing affection. The first few walks will focus on building a connection and relationship with your dog. I use positive reinforcement when walking dogs on a leash or while playing with them in a field or park. I often use the dog’s kibble as their “treat” and reward for good behavior and obedience.

Let me know if your dog needs a specific type of exercise, like running, or a minimum mileage on walks/runs. For dog-sitting, please let me know about medications and how to administer them. Additionally, I have two dogs at home, so please let me know if your dog doesn't do well with smells and hair from other dogs. I have a limit of two dogs at a time for walks/runs, but I can dog-sit up to 4 dogs in one home.

If I'm walking your dog, I guarantee a dog-focused walk where they'll get all the steps and sniffs they want. Additionally, if your dog prefers running, I can run with them (especially helpful for high-energy breeds). If I'm dog-sitting, I'll spend time with your dog in the house and yard. I can feed your dog, play with it, and take it outside to use the bathroom before I leave. Every dog has different attention needs, so if your dog needs some extra enrichment, we can play games that utilize their sense of smell—I call it "Hunt," where the dog has to find the towel with kibble/treats in it. This activity engages their sense of smell and sight.

I love walking dogs and spending quality time outside. Whether it's playing fetch or going for a nice walk, I focus on the dog the entire time—I won’t ignore your dog and play on my phone. I use positive reinforcement and clear commands to set expectations for walks and play time. Your dog deserves meaningful exercise and socialization. I grew up with dogs, but most recently, I’ve cared for my two Weimaraners for 6 years. They receive daily exercise, engagement, and enrichment. Whether you have a high-energy dog who needs longer walks and play sessions or a dog that wants to sniff around and soak up vitamin D, I'll meet your dog where it is.
