Staycation is the New Dog-Adventure

Pet care experience

Sometimes the best vacation for your dog when you're away is a staycation that's a full-time urban adventure for your four-legged family member in the place he knows best: home. I'm a long-time dog dude who was heartbroken when my most recent companion, a giant Doberman with a a love for adventure, passed away suddenly when his heart proved too small of a home for for his huge, gentle soul. I have a lifetime of experience with breeds of all type, including training pups new to life and caring for those with whiskers grayed with experience. I've worked with pets of all energy levels, those with anxiety when left alone or nervous while on leash, and those with special needs that require appropriate attention. That means an urban adventure staycation is the vacation they deserve while you're away. Your staycationing family member will have the time of their lives when, together, we explore their neighborhood and beyond. When you're away on business or pleasure, you can rest assured your four-legged friend will experience urban hikes through the friendly confines of your neighborhood, or will venture out to some of the most beautiful green spaces available in the city, including playtime -- alone or in groups -- at safe and secure locations throughout Chicago. Together we'll investigate every blade of grass, every grain of sand, and every interesting smell, all within compliance of city ordinances, of course. As a writer and editor, I have a flexible schedule and a mobile lifestyle. I'm available to offer your pet the staycation they most definitely deserve. And having cared for my own senior dogs with their own special needs, if your dog requires timely medication or extra care, I fully understand the necessity of adhering to their strict regimen. An effective communicator who's headed a thriving marketing communications business for more than fifteen years, I'm a professional dedicated to exceptional customer service. But also one who's come to realize it's time in life to focus on passions more important than promoting potato chips, sugary cereals and overpriced automobiles. This passion translates into giving your family member an adventure of a lifetime while also giving you peace of mind they're safe and expertly cared for while you're away.

Great as always! Tony is reliable, thorough, and loves our pup almost as much as she loves him.

Tony is wonderful with our labs. We have a young lab (3yrs old) and another lab (11 1/2 yrs old). Our dogs are excited when Tony comes to walk them.

Anthony is the absolute best! I can’t say enough about how kind and wonderful he is to me and my senior puppy. He shows genuine concern, pays attention to detail, and has a kind heart. It’s hard to find anyone to support my baby boy, I’m so grateful we have Anthony !

I cannot say enough great thinks about Anthony. When my senior puppy couldn’t walk, he was extremely patient and kind towards him. He also showed genuine concern and checked in with me regularly. This is beyond what he was “hired” for and speaks more about the person that he is. I greatly trust him and appreciate him. Highly recommended!

It's stressful for them when parents go away, and it's important your furry family member stick to what's familiar without missing a beat. While you're gone, your pet will be kept on the same schedule and similar routine as possible. Almost like you never left, but with some new adventures to boot!

Information Anthony R. would like to know about your pet

As a long-time owner of several large breeds, I'm capable of caring for every gentle giant, as well as their smaller sidekicks. You can travel comfortably knowing your canine companion (and let's face it, they're MUCH more than just that, they're members of the family!) will be under the watchful eye of a trustworthy chaperon who'll show them a great adventure, while keeping them safe and protected. And while you're gone, it's my goal to keep them in the lifestyle to which they've become accustomed. To ensure that happens, it would be beneficial to get any of the following details about their daily activities in an effort to mimic their daily lives and give you peace of mind to travel comfortably. SCHEDULE: Walk times, Play times, Feeding schedule (and how much) COMMANDS: Let me know what they know (Sit, Lay, Paw, High Five, etc.) FEARS: The world can be scary (Storms, other dogs, being alone, etc.) REWARDS: When and how they should be get treats (and how many) MEDICATION: To keep them safe and healthy (dosages and times) ALLERGIES: And the importance of a good diet (no-no's and yes-yes's) SPECIAL NEEDS: Share any special treatment they require ANYTHING ELSE: Every pet is unique. And there's lots to know about each one. Feel free to share any information you think will make their staycation the best it can be.

A typical day

It's my goal to make your pet's vacation as enjoyable as your own. Their staycation includes tons of exercise and attention -- cuddles, belly scratches, back rubs, hours of playtime and a whole lot more. Urban explorations are in store at some of the finest parks, forest preserves and lakefront areas available in the greatest city in the world. THE SOUND OF SERVICE THAT ROCKS -- HOUSE SITTING: Includes urban hikes, exercise, socialization (or not) and, of course, plenty of playtime and all the fun and attention that can be crammed into their vacation beginning at the time you depart. DOG WALKING/DROP-IN VISITS: When you're away for the day or the evening and need someone to look after your pet, there are multiple options to fit their adventuring needs and energy levels. . ADD-ONS: Oftentimes pets require special attention, targeted care, 24/7 constant care, or their needs can sometimes extend beyond the hours you'd planned. Life happens. And that's okay. In such cases, additional nominal fees my be necessary and can be discussed at the time of booking or as your schedule or the needs of your pet change.
