Safety, trust & environment

I always do a meet and greet before any overnight booking so your pet knows who I am before I show up to stay with them. I like to meet at your home so I can see their routine and environment firsthand. I'm also happy to start our meeting in a public place nearby and then head to your home once you're comfortable. During our meeting, we'll go over your pet's needs, quirks, preferences, medical history, etc. I ask that you also write these things out for me as well so I can reference them while you’re gone. I understand the desire for extra levels of security these days, and am comfortable with outdoor cameras. That said, I will need to turn off any indoor cams during a petsit. I am happy to turn them back on whenever I am out of the house.

Information Anna C. would like to know about your pet

**Please send me all the important info about your pet and house at least a day in advance so I can review it and ask any clarifying questions before I arrive. Specifically, I will need these important things -- meds, food, vets, and backup contacts -- to be in writing. Bonus if you’re also able to provide a hard copy!** Since I meet a lot of pet parents, it’s very helpful to get written instructions. The info I listed in the above paragraph is the most important, but I encourage you to to get detailed in your instructions and notes; there’s truly no such thing as TMI as far as I’m concerned. The more information, the easier it is for me to make your critters comfortable — which makes me feel more comfortable in my role, too. I love to know your pet’s specific preferences, as well as anything that triggers anxiety for them. What weird or goofy behaviors do they do that are actually quite normal for them? Are you working on training a certain behavior? Do you turn a certain radio station on for them at a specific volume when you leave the house? I also like to know your communication preferences. Would you rather I send updates throughout the day, or one daily digest in the evening? Do you prefer me not to text at certain times of day? Just let me know what works best.

A typical day

I will take your pup on walks, play with their favorite toys, set up “treat hunts” for them, practice commands if they're into training, and just give them all the scratches and snuggles they want. If they're happy, I'm happy!

Pet care experience

I've been petsitting for more than 10 years, and started to pursue it more seriously about a year ago. It has always been a great way for me to spend time with animals since I don't have my own pets. I've cared for dogs, cats, chickens, goats, ponies, fish, and frogs, and loved each one of them! My specialty is in-home sitting; I think pets are most comfortable in their own space. I also do walks and drop-ins, but I can't board pets at my place. Some fun facts about my background: I once worked as a goat midwife, I spent a year at a pet supply store where I got to know all the local dogs, and I've worked on farms around the world. I also love plants, so I'm happy to water your garden while I'm taking care of your pets!

Anna was a good communicator, asked great questions, and took good care of both my pup and my home. My border collie, Alsea, is super high-energy and Anna seemed to handle it well. The house was clean and Alsea was tired (in a good way) and well-adjusted when I got home. I will definitely call Anna again for future pet sitting needs!

Anna was so communicative and clearly adored animals. Our puppy got tons of attention and exercise every day, and the cats were happy enough to sleep with - or on - Anna! Would absolutely rebook.

Anna stayed with our pups/at our house for several days while we were out of town and we could not have felt more grateful having them in her care! it was a worry-free experience on our end filled with so many sweet photos and videos of the doggos having the best time. she’s so kindhearted, a truly excellent communicator, took great care of the house and most importantly, our lil creatures in it!
