Pet care experience

Animal Lover Experienced Dog Walker

I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life, and caring for them has always been a natural part of who I am. I grew up in the countryside in Chile, where we were lucky to have four German Shepherds and one Dachshund—so I learned from a young age how to understand, respect, and care for different personalities and energy levels. Over the years, I also had the opportunity to care for Dobermans, a breed I truly love. I looked after them for three years at my family home, gaining experience with larger, more active dogs that require structure, attention, and confidence. When I became independent, I was gifted a brown Dachshund, who I have cared for since she was just 3 months old—she is my little princess. Although I don’t currently live with my dogs, they remain a very important part of my life. Friends and neighbors have also trusted me to care for their dogs, including Chihuahuas, Border Collies, Dobermans, and Dachshunds. This has given me valuable experience with a wide range of temperaments and energy levels, allowing me to adapt to each dog’s unique. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and always make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved. 🐶💛

Anita took care of my five-month-old Chihuahua puppy for two weeks. It was the first time my puppy had been away from home since I got her, so naturally I was quite anxious about leaving her for that long. However, Anita did a phenomenal job, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. My puppy came home noticeably more mature and settled. Some behaviours we had been struggling with before, particularly biting hands, had completely disappeared. Anita had even taught her new things, including staying in her bed and playing with a toy on command, which was such a lovely surprise. Throughout the two weeks, Anita kept me updated every day with messages, photos and videos, which gave me so much reassurance. It was also very apparent from the way she cared for my puppy that she genuinely loves animals and really enjoys spending time with them. I’m incredibly grateful to Anita and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their dog. I would leave my puppy with her again in a heartbeat.

Anita took great care of my dog, mostly brought him for walks or looked after him overnight, she also kept him for a five day stretch which went very well. Anita was also very accommodating with pick up & drop off times. I would definitely recommend. Laurent

To whom it may concern, I highly recommend Anita Squella as a dog sitter. She looked after my border collie when he was around two years old, which is a stage that requires both physical exercise and mental stimulation. From day one, Anita showed strong reliability, structure and a clear understanding of high energy breeds. She maintained a consistent routine, including feeding on schedule, ensuring proper hydration and monitoring his overall wellbeing. She was very aware of his energy levels and adapted activities to keep him balanced and engaged. Anita was also extremely respectful of all my instructions and house rules, whether caring for him at home or taking him out. She handled him confidently on walks, always prioritizing safety by using a leash in appropriate areas and allowing off leash time only in secure dog parks. One of the things I valued the most was her communication. She regularly sent photos and updates, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. It is not easy to leave your dog with someone, but Anita made it feel completely stress free. She also incorporated enrichment activities like ball games and interactive play, which are essential for a breed like a border collie. He was always happy, exercised and mentally stimulated after spending time with her. Anita is dependable, communicative and truly committed to the dogs she cares for. I would absolutely trust her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible and attentive dog sitter.

Schedule

Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I work remotely in the afternoons, which means I have my mornings and early afternoons fully available to dedicate to dog walking and pet care. I usually start my day early, so I can easily adapt to different schedules depending on each dog’s needs—whether that’s morning walks, midday check-ins, or spending a few hours keeping them company. Since I already have a structured routine, incorporating pet care is something I truly enjoy rather than something I have to fit in. I’m also flexible during the week and can organize my schedule in advance to ensure each pet receives the time, attention, and care they need. For longer stays or in-home care, I’m happy to adjust my routine to make sure pets feel comfortable and well looked after.

Safety, trust & environment

I always adapt my care depending on each pet’s routine, personality, and the service required, whether it’s in my home or in the owner’s home. When caring for pets in my home, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed. I live in an apartment with a secure inner courtyard and a terrace, so they can enjoy fresh air in a safe environment. I maintain a calm and clean space, follow their usual feeding schedule, and ensure they get enough exercise, playtime, and affection. When I care for pets in their own home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent as possible. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding, walks, medication if needed, and any specific habits they have. I also make sure they feel accompanied, respected, and stress-free in their familiar environment. In both cases, I pay close attention to their behavior and needs, making sure they are happy, safe, and well cared for at all times. I also like to keep owners updated with messages or photos, so they feel reassured while they are away.
