Safety, trust & environment

Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in yours, I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment. In my home, pets have access to cozy resting spots, safe play areas, and plenty of supervision. I follow your pet’s feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any special instructions so they feel right at home. When caring for pets in your home, I make sure to maintain their familiar routines and surroundings. I provide fresh food and water, regular potty breaks or litter box cleaning, exercise or playtime, and lots of affection (or respectful space if they prefer). I also keep your home tidy and secure while you’re away. My goal is always to give pets loving, consistent care so they feel happy and safe, no matter where they are.

Information Alyssa B. would like to know about your pet

Before watching anyone’s pets, it’s really important for me to get to know a few key things about them ahead of time. I always ask about their general temperament—are they shy, playful, anxious, or super energetic? This helps me approach them in a way that makes them feel safe and comfortable. I also make sure to find out their daily routine, like feeding times, walk schedules, and any specific commands or cues they respond to. Health and safety are top priorities too. I ask about any allergies, medications, or medical conditions I should be aware of, and I make sure I know where their vet is located in case of an emergency. For dogs, I find out if they’re good on a leash, how they react to other animals, and whether they’re crate-trained or free-roaming. For cats, I check whether they’re indoor-only, if they’re allowed on furniture, and if they have hiding spots or areas they prefer to stay in. Finally, I always ask about their favorite toys, treats, or activities—those little details can make a big difference in helping the pet feel happy and relaxed while their owner is away. The more I know upfront, the better I can care for them and make the experience smooth for everyone involved.

A typical day

When I’m watching dogs and cats, I love finding fun ways to keep them active, happy, and comfortable. With dogs, I usually take them on daily walks or short hikes—it’s a great way for both of us to get fresh air and for them to explore new smells. Playtime is a must, and games like fetch or tug-of-war are always a hit. If the dog enjoys learning, I like to throw in some short training sessions. We’ll work on basic commands like “sit” or “stay,” and sometimes I’ll teach them fun tricks like “spin” or “high five.” I’ve even set up little obstacle courses with cushions or furniture, or hidden treats around the house for a sniff-and-find game that keeps their minds busy. With cats, I switch gears a bit and focus more on interactive and independent play. I’ll use toys like feather wands or laser pointers to get them moving, and it’s always fun to see their hunting instincts kick in. I also enjoy giving them treat puzzles or hiding snacks around their space—it keeps them mentally sharp and curious. If they’re more low-key, I’ll set up a cozy spot by a window so they can relax and watch the world go by. And honestly, a simple cardboard box or paper bag can turn into the highlight of their day. Whether we’re playing or just chilling together, I try to match their energy and make sure they feel loved and entertained while I’m with them.

Alyssa has been working for our family for about 2 months and we couldn’t recommend anyone more!! Our dogs are always so happy to see her and she treats them like they’re her own. Not only does she send updates to put my dog mom brain to rest she keeps me in the loop on how much they ate , if they went out , really just about everything!! If you are considering someone to take care of your dogs and treat them like there own and show them love Alyssa is the best fit. I cant recommend anyone more☺️

I’ve known Alyssa for over 10 years, and in that time I’ve seen her care for animals with unmatched dedication and compassion. As a fellow pet sitter, I’ve trusted her to take on my own clients when I’m unavailable, knowing their pets will be in the best hands. I’ve also seen her with her family dogs over the years and with her own sweet dog, Lucy — she treats them with so much love, patience, and attention. She is attentive, reliable, and truly understands each pet’s individual needs. I wholeheartedly recommend her as a responsible and loving caregiver for any pet. She will go above and beyond to keep your pet and home safe & well looked after.
