Hi :) I'm Alycia and welcome to my profile on Rover! A little about me.... I'm a nurturer by nature and I've been an avid animal lover for as long as I can remember. To have my life revolving around the wellbeing of your furbabies, where I get to offer personalized care, is the most fulfilling future I could have ever imagined for myself. I'm one lucky woman to be able to devote myself to the care of your pet's. I've had a couple of nicknames over the years.... 'Dog Whisperer' and 'Snow White' being some of them! While living in the Peruvian Andes, I became known as the 'Dog Whisperer.' Street dogs became my constant companions wherever I went, and where others couldn't interact with them for fear of being bit, they did nothing but love and protect me. I would get evening visits where I could recognize the howls of who's who, and they frequently showed up on my doorstep whenever I moved locations! It was pure magic and I easily formed some of the happiest and most fulfilling connections I've ever had. The nickname, 'Snow White' came from my times spent at Happy Acres - the farm animals seemed enthralled with me, to a laughable extent in which people took notice! I even had an outdoor cat who perched on my shoulder for the entire duration of one visit! The comfort I feel in the presence of animals, is akin to that of home. It's this ease that encourages truly special connections to form. I have experience in volunteering to care for horses as well! It was at a farm in Spruce Grove where I assisted an elderly woman in the care and maintenance of her horses. This was in the dead of Winter (think January, February) and included a lot of manual labor as well as the extremely close handling of horses in all states of condition and ages. It was a pleasure to get to know their personalities and work within their comfort zones. I loved discovering the unique bonds that are formed with individual horses. Every aspect of that volunteer position was rewarding and very educational. I am happy to offer my petsitting services at your home! This is ideal for most pets while their beloved owners are away. In their own home, your pets have the pleasure of being fully immersed in a familiar and comforting environment. My day-to-day priorities include maintaining your pets regular schedule for everything from meals, walks, play, medication, etc. You're putting your furbaby in my hands, and it's my job (and pleasure!) to ensure they're well cared for in every way. I own a SUV solely for the comfort of your furbabies! Whether we're going to a park, a hike or a playdate, my vehicle is always prepped to handle a muddy, wet or sick pet situation. I have multiple Pet First Aid Kits - one that is always in my vehicle and another when entering my client's homes. I'm never without my vehicle as it's absolutely crucial to have immediate and reliable transportation available for your pets. My heart is committed to offering the most connected and in tune pet care possible. I consider myself more than a dog walker or a pet sitter, I pride myself on being a pet caregiver extraordinaire!
