About Me 🐾 Hi! I’m Alexis — a dedicated pet sitter, lifelong animal lover, and active volunteer at PAWS Chicago. Caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life, from dogs and cats to small pets like guinea pigs. With over 8 years of experience as a small-pet owner and hands-on experience with dogs of all temperaments, I understand that every animal has their own personality, needs, and comfort level. My approach is simple: create a safe, calm, and positive environment for every pet in my care. Every pet is different, so I adjust my approach to whatever makes yours feel most relaxed, confident, and at ease. When it comes to medications, I’m happy to administer them as long as they can be mixed into food and your pet is already used to this method. At this time, I do not give oral medications directly or handle injections (such as insulin), but I am open to learning to do so if you’re able to walk me through your pet’s routine to ensure everything is done safely and comfortably. At home, I have a sweet and sassy 2-year-old Pomeranian who loves company. He can be vocal when first meeting new dogs, but he settles quickly once he’s had time to sniff, observe, and get comfortable. To ensure the best fit for boarding, I always schedule a 15–30 minute meet-and-greet so both pups can get to know each other at their own pace. Their safety and comfort mean everything to me. Whether you’re booking walks, drop-ins, or overnight care, my goal is to make your pet feel understood, cared for, and genuinely loved. I treat every animal like they’re part of my own family.
