Hi there! My name is Alanna and I have been an animal lover since I was a young kid. I grew up alongside and cared for dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, and fish. At the age of 12, I helped my family's cocker spaniel, Emily, give birth to a litter of puppies. For the last six years, I have provided drop-in and housesitting services for clients who were away for days to weeks at a time. I have experience administering medication, tube feeding, and caring for both elderly and anxious cats. I like to track feeding and cleaning on a hand-drawn chart and enjoy taking photos to include in regular updates. Expect super cute photos of your animal companion(s) while you're away!

Alanna was able to befriend our timid and shy cat during her drop in visits over the course of four days while we were away. A typical day
When I'm caring for cats, I like to play with their favourite toys, give them treats, and spend quiet time together on the couch or balcony. If the cat enjoys being brushed, I’m happy to groom them as well. Once they've warmed up to me, I enjoy petting and cuddling them at their comfort level. When I provide care for rabbits or other small mammals, I like to sit on the floor and feed them veggies and treats by hand so they become familiar with my scent. I speak softly and let them approach me, and when they’re calm I will softly pet their head and back.
