Ready to go the extra mile!

Pet care experience

Hi! I’m Alan, a reliable and energetic pet sitter with a flexible summer schedule. I’m a full-time computer science teacher during the school year, and during the summer, I love staying active and spending time with pets. Whether it’s dog walking, check-ins, or boarding, I treat every pet like they’re my own. 🏃‍♂️ I'm also a long-distance runner, so if your dog loves extra exercise, I’m happy to take them on long walks—or even short jogs if they’re up for it! 🐶 I currently have a friendly, well-socialized goldendoodle named Charlie (he’s in my profile photo!). Before Charlie, I had a terrier-poodle mix named Nigel, who was part of our family for 12 wonderful years. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities, and I know how important it is to find someone you can trust. 📅 My schedule is wide open this summer, which means I can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits. If you’re looking for someone responsible, communicative, and pet-loving, I’d love to help care for your furry friend. Feel free to message me with any questions—I usually respond within an hour!

Alan is the first dog walker our dog Cooper has ever had, and he did an amazing job helping us and Cooper feel like we were in good hands from day one. Our dog is very shy but took to Alan right away. We love all the photos Alan takes on their walks and seeing how happy Cooper is when he comes back. Couldn't recommend Alan more!

Alan was on time, communicative, flexible, and took adorable pictures of our dog Bali on his walks with him! Bali can be a bit shy towards new people but Alan immediately made him feel very comfortable. It's clear he is a dog lover and we would hire him again in a heartbeat 😊

“I’ve known Alan for years and can confidently say he’s one of the most trustworthy and caring people I know—especially when it comes to animals. He’s always had a natural connection with dogs, and I’ve seen how attentive and patient he is, whether he’s going for a walk, playing, or just making a dog feel comfortable in a new environment. He’s incredibly reliable, detail-oriented, and genuinely loves spending time with pets. Anyone would be lucky to have him care for their dog.”

Safety, trust & environment

I offer drop-in visits and daytime care in your pet’s own home, where they’re most comfortable and relaxed. I follow your routine closely—feeding, walks, playtime, medication, or just quality companionship—whatever your pet needs to feel safe and happy. Because I have a dog of my own at home, I focus solely on in-home visits and do not offer boarding. This allows me to give my full attention to your pet in their familiar environment. I’m very respectful of your home and always send updates and photos during each visit, so you can feel confident they’re in good hands.

Information Alan G. would like to know about your pet

I want to give your pet the best care possible, so it helps to know a few things ahead of time: Energy level and walking habits – Do they pull on the leash? Are they used to longer or shorter walks? Any health issues or medications How they interact with other dogs, people, or kids Feeding schedule and any allergies Favorite toys, routines, or calming techniques Any behaviors I should be aware of—like barking, chewing, or separation anxiety The more I know, the better I can tailor our time together to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and cared for!

A typical day

A typical day with me includes lots of outdoor time, attention, and affection! I love starting the day with a good walk (or jog if your pup is up for it), followed by playtime, belly rubs, and mental stimulation like practicing commands or games with toys. I tailor the day to each dog’s energy level—whether they’re high-energy runners or couch-loving cuddlers. If your pet enjoys being active, we might explore different neighborhoods or parks nearby. I’m a marathon runner, so I’m happy to help burn off extra energy on long walks or brisk jogs. For lower-energy dogs, we’ll stick to shorter strolls and indoor play, with lots of time for relaxing and companionship. You’ll get regular updates and photos so you know your pet is safe, happy, and well-cared for!

Pet care is a natural part of my daily life. I have a goldendoodle named Charlie, so my days already include walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention. Since I’m off for the summer from teaching, my schedule is wide open and very flexible—I’m home most of the day and can easily adjust my routine to meet each pet’s needs. Whether it's early morning walks, midday drop-ins, or overnight boarding, I have the time and space to give pets the care and companionship they deserve.
