Basic/ Advanced Obedience Trainer

Pet care experience

Your pet deserves the best with dedication, training and companionship. I have worked with the SanTan Animal rescue, the Little Traverse Bay Humane society and friends and family and clients over the years; walking while training and helping with adoptions. I am using my experience and education to give the best to your pet. I'm a modified traditional and clicker trainer. I will be working with your pet as well as you if you're interested in learning my methods. I strive to go the extra mile every visit with you and your pet. During my training I will leave my tips and tricks for you. I'm the trainer and instructor you've been looking for because of the burning passion I have to impact the dog owning community. FIRST AID TRAINING: By hiring me you and rest assured that you will have top care for your pet, with knowledgeable experience and education for first aid and quick and concise treatment to any injury/attack that could happen. Being prepared with spare leashes and first aid on my walks reassure I am prepared for anything to happen and handle it quickly. I’m not afraid of defending and advocating for your pet in the case of emergency. Training on the walk: I specialize in loose leash training and look forward to improving every walk with teaching manners and getting all the good sniffs they can get (sometimes treats too!) everyone wants that walk where it’s theraputic with their pet, and maybe they want their children to learn to walk their dog(s) I love teaching the whole family and bring my pup along the way to assist in non reactivity and help other dogs. Reactivity can be hard to handle, with my group walk methods we all learn to walk with confidence when we understand how to handle the situation, and apply new skills. If you have any questions I’d love to help! Give me a text if you need: Crate training, potty training, loose leash training, behavioral therapy and more!

Every visit is catered to training and maintaining good manners. My ultimate goal is to bring skills equivalent to a "Good Citizen" level of training even if we don't get much time I work to set steady foundations for success. Walks will not just be an easy breezy (chaotic) pull me around or softly walk through the neighborhood. We work on getting the dog tired and stimulated for maximum happiness of your pet. Dogs love figuring out challenges that help their comprehension of training grow and enhance the relationship between pet and handler. Seeing your dog improve on skills bring my heart so much joy sometimes I could just scream with excitement. Drop ins are for one on one training with you, your pet(s) and I. Walking and doing house exercises to stimulate their brain and exhaust their energy in productive ways, all the while teaching you and answering any training questions you have. I'll always leave tips tricks and techniques I to share so that you feel more educated and confident in building your relationship with your pet to its full potential. In my home I train all day every day as I do my own dogs. Keeping their gears turning and growing their trust in me is highest of priority. My home is sectioned off into 3 parts in the case some dogs may not get along and need to be desensitized. There are 2 trainers in the home to assist with any training desensitization or other special needs your pet may have. And to take training to a comfortable but challenging level to expand that training. I always keep reflective gear and dog first aid kits on me while working with your pet. SAFETY FIRST! If you have more questions let me know. I hope to see you booking with me in your future 🩷

If there are medical concerns about your dog please ensure to give me details on what the concern is. I love helping pet handlers understand more about training and strengthening their relationship with their pet. If you would like me to take you on the walk or work with me on a drop in training session please be sure to mention it so I can prepare accordingly. If there are behavioral concerns in your dog please give me detail so I can ases and evaluate what services I qualify to provide you and your pet.

A typical day

A dog is always in training. My method of training is modified traditional + clicker training. When going for a walk I will start with the start up process. Grabbing the gear and getting the dog/s ready for the walk. I keep reflective gear and dog first aid kits on hand with every training session i have. I use door manners for every breed, big and small. I always go through first and invite the dog out. This helps with walking through the front door, bedroom door, ect. in a proper manner. Once the walk commences i encourage loose leash walk. There should never be a time where your arm comes close to coming out the socket. It takes alot of time and patience but this is something I practice every day, even with my already trained service dogs. I have a whole bag of tricks to use if there are difficulties in walks to improve your over all walks with your pet. Praise praise praise, I will praise every good behavior in your pet to reinforce what we are looking for in them. Good boy/ girl throughout your visit/walk/ sitting. Allowing time to sniff all the good tree trunks and grass patches, or whatever safe place they like helps incentivate walking nice to the next spot. Keeping the time together structured helps them pay attention not only to their handler, but feel confident in their manners and behaviors. I keep close attention to their mouths during sniffing, it's always a great concern to me what may or may not be near your dogs mouth. SAFETY FIRST. When staying in my home there are 3 other dogs. The house is separated into 3 sections to ensure safety and comfortability are both met. Training begins at first feeding time and goes all day including special requests of behaviors you may want worked on. We eat and work on a couple of basic commands, sit, lay down, stand, and look at me. And we move on from there based off the level of training we start with. This happens throughout the day to instil these commands up until dinner time. At the end of long term visits request a profile/document with training I have worked on with them, I love to share the work and progress! What I see, what I do, and what I recommend.
