Information Aimeejoy J. would like to know about your pet

Is your dog house broken? Does your dog have medical issues? Does your dog prefer to be indoors or outside? What is the energy level of your dog? Has your dog been aggressive in the past? Would your dog like to be held and/or pet or is your dog aloof? Is playtime fun for your dog? What activities do they like best? What vaccinations is your dog current with? Can I give your dog treats?

A typical day

I walk dogs on our property. There’s plenty to sniff and explore! Frequent breaks are not a problem. Soon, we’ll have the BIG dog yard. About an acre!

Pet care experience

We are situated on 6 acres approximately 7 minutes from Wind Cave Park and a few minutes from Hot Springs City. Other tourist attractions mileage from my home: Crazy Horse Memorial 45 minutes (34.9 miles), Mt. Rushmore National Park 1 hour (49.4 miles), Jewel Cave National Monument 48 minutes (48.1 miles), Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary 31 minutes (18.7 miles), The Mammoth Site 11 minutes (4.7 miles) and Moccasin Springs Natural Mineral Spring 8 minutes (3.3 miles). If your pup enjoys a walk, I will take your pup for a walk around the back half of the property. It's peaceful and full of smells to discover. I haven't found a dog that doesn't love this walk yet! We have a fenced in (4 ft. high fence) back yard that is connected to our dog secure window & screened in wrap around porch. We moved to Hot Springs in Nov. 2021 and are in the process of setting up a big dog yard. At this time, we are only accepting small and medium dogs because I hurt my shoulder. I would love to enjoy your big dog, but they would be locked in the fenced yard the entire time, and a big dog would have to be OK with that. I’ve been around tiny to large dogs most of my life. I am not intimidated by large breeds or strong willed pets. I’ll have just as much fun with your teacup breed as I do with the giant breeds. We have had 5 dogs in our family, 3 Akita’s and 2 Shiba Inu's. We trained all of our dogs to respond to visual and verbal commands. I can administer medication and prepare special meals. I am a stay at home wife. So, I'm home a lot! April 2020, we took in a rescued akita. Shinshi is our gentle boy who likes his peace & quiet, zen space. Yuki is our 2nd shiba inu that we waited almost 2 years for! She brings out Shinshi's inner child and between the 2 of these, we are constantly entertained! 🐾 When your dog or dogs are here, I have a one family policy. You may have seen our akita, Shinshi. He appreciates his serenity; I keep him separated from my Rover client‘s dogs. He loves to play, but he weighs more than most dogs (100 lbs) and thinks he's 25 lbs as he rolls over Yuki. Oopsie's happen so as much as he'd love to love on your dog and play, he stays in our bedroom so a dislocated shoulder doesn't happen to a little one. He is good with our shiba inu, Yuki, but he knows her threshold. Later, when we can accept big dogs, he can play. For now, he can enjoy the big dogs at the groomer! If your dog is potty trained, they are welcome inside our home.

She and her husband were so kind and sweet with Bailey while we visited Wind Cave. You can tell they really love animals, and I think any pup would be lucky to hang out with them. They are conveniently close to the park, which made everything easy, and they even gave both my dad and me coffee to go. Very thoughtful, caring people — I would completely recommend them.

Incredible!! Aimee and her husband were such nice and kind human beings and so flexible! They even loaned me a flashlight for my Wind Cave tour and a latte 🥹💓 15 min from the NP and super close to all other attractions like the wild horse sanctuary, mammoth and more!!

AJ took wonderful care of my dog Rocky on very short notice. She was excellent and responding quickly and sending me pictures of my happy boy throughout the day. I absolutely recommend her to anyone wanting to explore South Dakota for a few hours without your doggy!
