Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs and multiple cats in the household (at one point we had 8 cats!), including dogs of all sizes (mutt, American Eskimo, German Shepherd) as well as 2 snakes, so I've pretty much spent my entire life taking care of animals, walking them, cleaning litter etc. I have been taking care of both dogs and cats on Rover for over a year now, and it has been a pleasure looking after them. For multi-pet households or visits spanning over 4 days, my husband may come along to the meet & greet. He also does pet sitting and has around 5 years of experience with dogs, cats, and turtles, as well as a special knack for figuring out where your fluffy friend likes to be scratched. This way, we can seamlessly support each other in case one of us has an unexpected schedule change, ensuring continuous, top-notch care for your furry family members.

This is the second time Adela and George have watched our cats and they knocked it out of the ball park again! They are fantastic at communicating every step of the way and our cats adore them.
Adela and George did such an amazing job watching our 2 cats! They sent updates all the time and we felt very comfortable that the cats were being looked after well. Our cats bonded to them so well! We look forward to hopefully hiring them again for future trips.
Adela (and George) were great! I really appreciated them looking after my playful 4 year old cat. He requires a lot of play to get his aggression out, and he takes a bit of time before he warms up/becomes cuddly. I received detailed updates and pictures while I was away!

I take my time to establish a relationship with your pet depending on their temperament, particularly if they are shy and/or reactive! It can take a lot of time for a shy cat to open up or a fearful dog to become more comfortable, but I believe experience, patience, and adapting to the pet's needs and preferences is key. I typically don't take boarding requests, but may consider them if your dog would like a playmate and gets along with my German Shepherd. Cats are not recommended.

Please let me know your dog's age, temperament, walking habits, and if there are any unknowns (e.g. adopted from a shelter at x age, prior history unknown). I am experienced in handling fearful-reactive dogs, but will not work with extremely reactive or aggressive dogs.
A typical day
Cat: After feeding, water, litter changes and all the usual, I spend time either cuddling/petting or playing with your cat with their favorite toys, depending on what the cat prefers. Dog: After coming over and getting any leashes, harnesses, and other gears on, I will take your pup for a 30- or 60-minute walk around the neighborhood! If your pup likes walking with other dogs I could also bring my German Shepherd for a joint walk. I also offer longer hiking adventures at Point Isabel, Point Pinole, Wildcat Canyon etc, please message me for rates.
