About: I am a very responsible dog owner. I have a 5 year old Border Collie named Abby. She loves herding & long walks. I have had over 20 years experience taking care of my own and others pets. I work from home so am available throughout the week Monday - Sunday, my schedule is flexible so I'm able to help out just about anytime. Abby & I enjoy running, walking around the neighborhood and going to our nearest dog park which is 2 blocks away. I have experience taking care of older dogs, a blind dog, and smaller dogs, so I can adapt to whatever needs your dog may have. I would love to get to know you and your furbaby. They will be treated like my own.
“Nicole was great!! She took my puppy last minute and he had so much fun tagging along with them to a BBQ, swimming, playing with her kiddos, and so much more! 10/10 recommend her!”

“As a new user, I found that Sarah was so helpful in explaining how the app worked and what to expect. My puppy was very relaxed with Sarah and waiting by the door for me when I came to pick him up. I will definitely use the service with Sarah again.”

“TzuYu took great care of my dog! She gave very frequent updates & photos of my dog going on walks and playing with her and her dog. We already booked the next visit.”

About: I have had my own pets since I was a young child. I have taken care of many of my friends, family, neighbors, and church members pets over the years. I love dogs and kitties and believe they deserve to be well taken care of. They depend on us to be good to them and are at our mercy. If they are mistreated they can't say anything. This makes it that much more important to be good to our pets. I am not currently working so I have a lot of free time. I have 6 grown children who are on thier own. Two in college, the rest with their own families. I have one friendly lab mix who loves playmates. A fenced in yard, doggie door, and all hardwood floors so accidents are not tragic! I am within walking distance of our city bike/walking trail for long doggie walks.
“Sarah was so great! She answered all of my questions I asked before booking, was super responsive and so sweet with Cooper and sent me pictures and video throughout the day so I knew he was doing good.”

About: I've been an animal lover my entire life and have cared for everything from reptiles to rodents to larger 4-legged creatures. I spontaneously rescued a dog 20 years ago which ended up being one of the best decisions of my life. I spent 15 years with my little buddy exploring trails, taking car rides, lazily cuddling on the couch and having lots of one-way conversations. He unfortunately passed away a happy old man but during that time, taught me patience, dedication, playfulness and gave me a special appreciation for dogs. I have vast experience being around a variety of dogs of all shapes, sizes and personality types. I overall just enjoy being around dogs and caring for them (I'm definitely that guy asking strangers if I can pet their dog ). I look forward to sitting your animals and providing you a great service if we match. I work from home in an office setting during the week so I would be around the house most of the time to keep tabs on things and for backyard potty breaks (have a fenced in backyard). During the week, I would be available before 8:00am, during my lunch break and after 4:30pm for walks or to stop by your house for check-ins. On weekends, I am not working so I would be available all day. I live next to Tower Grove Park and enjoying spending time outside or walking in the park. I have a cozy home with a small fenced-in backyard that is perfect for small to medium sized dogs. My house is tidy, quiet and currently don’t have any pets, so my home is perfect dogs who prefer that kind of environment. I generally don’t need to leave the house too often so your pet would be hanging with me most of the time. When boarding, I am able to provide two 20 minute walks per day and as many backyard potty breaks as they need.
About: I have always grown up with pets in my life and love learning all about the different breeds and personalities a dog can have! I love spending time with animals and find that the best parts of my day involve playtime and cuddle time with my pup! I have a large backyard where your dog can play and get their zoomies out along with a dog pool for the warmer days! I have a quiet and calming area in my home for your dog to take a break or a nice long nap as desired. My flexible work from home schedule always ensure that a potty break or midday walk is never missed! When your dog is in my care, they will be loved just like my own! I currently work from home and make my own schedule. I am always available for any pet care that’s needed, including potty breaks, a quick treat, or just to give some belly rubs! Since I work for my laptop, I can work from any part of the house which includes being outside while your dog plays and soaks up the sun. During the weekends, I spend my time playing with my dog, going to the dog park, or cuddling on the couch. If this sounds like something, your dog would enjoy, they would fit right in! I have a partially fenced in backyard with only one side of the yard not being fully fenced. I have a yard steak that can be put in the ground that extends throughout most of the yard so that your dog can feel just as free as if the yard was completely fenced. When my dog is outside, I am either outside with her or watching her from the big windows in my home that face the backyard to always make sure she’s being safe. During the day, the doors are always closed and treats are always put up to avoid any overindulgence or escaping the home when I am unaware.
“Jessica watched our Shih Tzu all day while we went to Our son’s law school graduation. It was first time leaving her with sitter all day. Jessica sent lots of pictures and text updates with really eased my mind a lot!! I would definitely book her again when I return to St Louis !”

“I have a young puppy (3 months old) and she had a great time. She was well taken care of and will definitely be coming back! I was provided updates and pictures throughout the day. Highly recommend.”

About: Hi, I'm Gracie! I do home remodeling & carpentry things for work, but my number one passion is in taking care of animals. I also travel pretty frequently and because of that, I’ve found this platform invaluable. So aside from wanting to meet and hang with your cute pets, I’d love to return the favor and help out fellow pet owners! Especially in those dire, last minute boarding/sitting situations. (been there 😅) Growing up, my family fostered retired racing greyhounds so I’m very comfortable around sensitive and unsure dogs. For several years I worked and lived on various animal farms- all of which had/bred livestock guardian dogs that I worked very closely with. I am experienced in senior care and administering medications (including injections) to all sorts of animals. I work for myself doing residential carpentry and remodeling, so my schedule is very flexible and I’m usually available for last minute bookings. I also never work very far from home. Your dog’s comfort and safety always come first. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and even the bed if that’s what they’re used to at home, and I have several dog beds set up around the house too. I also have a large crate available if your dog needs a quiet, secure space to settle into. I keep a close eye on dogs at all times, dog-proof the areas we’re in, and make sure fresh water is always available.

“Just passing through and needed to leave Tobi somewhere safe for part of the day. Francie was great, exceeded expectations. Tobi loved playing with the other dt. This was our first Rover experience, but we'll be doing it again as we continue our travels.”

“Haile and Alex were so pleasant and informative. This was my first stay and they took the time to let my dog get acclimated with the other dogs upon arrival. They sent pics and videos to make me feel comfortable about me being apart. At pickup time they provided advice based off of what they experienced during the stay to help her next stay be just that much better for my pup. Needless to say her new bestie Evie had a great time and she is down for the count. ☺️ Thank you!”

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs my whole life—at least five of my own since childhood! I’ve learned how to understand their personalities and needs, and even trained my current dog to be calm and social. My home is cozy, welcoming, and set up for a dog’s comfort and routine. I provide the same love, structure, and attention to every pup I watch, making sure they feel safe, happy, and right at home while you’re away. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give dogs plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day. I love starting the day with a morning walk and taking another in the evening to wind down. I’m also available on weekends with at least a week’s notice—perfect for when you need a reliable sitter for your pup. In my home, dogs are treated like family. I have a friendly pup who loves making new friends and keeping other dogs company. There’s a cozy space where pets can relax, nap, or be crated if they need their own quiet time. My fenced yard gives them plenty of room for potty breaks and playtime in a safe environment. If I’m caring for your dog in your home, I’ll follow their normal routines to help them feel secure and loved while you’re away. Whether at your place or mine, I focus on creating a peaceful, happy experience for every pup.
“Walter and his wife have been so great with my dog! Kenai loves going over there for the day. They have made Kenai a welcome member in their home and even take him out for walks. They’re also understanding of my changing schedule when it comes to early drop offs and different pickup times. I really appreciate them!”

About: **I currently have two dogs of my own, but they stay at my partner's home if I am boarding your dog!** Hi! I’m a PhD student who has called St. Louis home for the past five years, and I’m currently in the final stages of writing my dissertation. The good news for your pets? I work from home, so I have plenty of time for walks, belly rubs, playtime, and keeping your furry friends company while you’re away! I am located in The Grove with access to a dog park at my apartment complex as well as walking distance to both Forest Park & Tower Grove Park for pups that enjoy long walks. One of my dogs loves people and dislikes other dogs, while the other one enjoys dogs and is wary of people so I have experience with a variety of dog personalities and their differing needs. Whether your pet is a professional cuddler, an energetic adventurer, or simply here for the treats, I’d love to spoil them ◡̈ Since I work from home while finishing my PhD dissertation, pet care fits pretty naturally into my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to take plenty of breaks throughout the day for walks, playtime, and potty breaks. 🐾 My schedule is much more “read a paper, take a dog for a walk, write a paragraph, give belly rubs” than a traditional 9-to-5. I can easily adapt to the schedule of your pup! I’m happy to build pet care into my day and give your pets plenty of attention rather than leaving them alone for long stretches. Having a furry coworker around is honestly a pretty great dissertation-writing perk! 😂 Your pet’s safety and comfort always come first. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or theirs, I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and any special instructions so they can feel comfortable and relaxed. I always keep a close eye on pets during walks and playtime. Since I work from home, I’m able to provide plenty of supervision and companionship throughout the day. I’ll treat your home with the same care and respect I’d want for my own, and I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you can see what your furry family member is up to. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable knowing your pet is safe & happy!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
