“Emily took absolute EXCELLENT CARE of our sweet pup! We were very nervous to leave our new puppy while out of town, but after reading Emily's reviews, we thought it may be okay. Emily was so kind to have us over for a puppy play date so we would feel comfortable with our pup staying there for a week. Immediately, our dog felt right at home! It was such a relief knowing he was in good hands while we were away. Her fenced in yard is perfect for lots of outdoor play, and her home is set up ideally for caring for dogs. While we were out of town, she responded quickly to my messages asking about how he was doing, and we so appreciated all the updates and pictures. The Rover app shows the location to be closer to Blacksburg that it really is but there weren’t many other options that were compatible for Nelly so it was worth the drive! I would use this sitter again if I was in the area.”

“Rocky loved his 3 night stay here! Richard and Kelly were quick to respond and I felt comfortable leaving Rocky here. They took him on walks through the woods every day which I know he loved! I would likely only recommend them to people who have outdoor dogs, or dogs that don't mind noise/dogs barking. Rocky is an outside dog so I am certain had no issues sleeping outside or listening to the other dogs bark in the kennels all day. I don't think a dog that is used to being indoors and a in a single dog house would love it here like Rocky did!”

About: I always grew up with my own animals and knew I wanted to to be a veterinarian one day. When I was in high school I started my own dog walking business to make some money and then heard a doggy daycare was opening up in town. I was the first to apply! I worked there for a while until I started at a local veterinarian at 16. Now I am going into my second year of vet school and wanted a way to fill some of my free time. Due to my busy class schedule I only have a cat right now, so I really enjoy spending extra time with dogs! My goal is to adopt a pit bull mix by the end of vet school because they have a special place in my heart! Over the past seven years, I’ve had the privilege of working with animals in a variety of settings from general care to specialty medicine to emergency and my passion for them only continues to grow. I'm skilled in administering medications and injections, caring for both puppies and senior pets, assisting with more challenging or nervous animals, and understanding dog behavior and body language. During the school year my schedule does vary Monday through Friday as labs are different days/times every week, however, they are only two hours long so I am flexible for the rest of the day! I really enjoy hanging out with animals as a study break! I also keep my schedule up to date on Rover! I'm available most days. Just message me about times and I will get back to you as soon as possible! I currently live in an apartment. I have one cat and my roommate has a cat. They both do well with dogs and will mainly keep to themselves and stay in our rooms. We are trying to socialize them more to dogs to get them more comfortable for when we adopt one in the next year! In our apartment we have two floors so we can keep the animals together when we are home and then separate them with a baby gate when we go out. There is a large unfenced backyard behind my apartment that is a communal space and lots of walking trails around including the Huckleberry Trail!
