Jen was great! We dropped Cooper off for the day and felt very comfortable leaving, knowing he was in great hands! Her two dogs were very sweet and were great companions for Cooper during his day there. When we picked Cooper up it was obvious he had a great day and was well taken care of. We would definitely bring Cooper back again when we are in the area.

Steven hosted my dog over for doggy day care when I received a last minute cancellation from another sitter. All worked out great. Steven had prompt communication, understood dog behavior and needs, followed through on my requests on how to care for my dog. Perfect experience, highly recommend! My dog will be back!

Susannah and Richard were so kind and great to work with! They took excellent care of our nervous dog during a holiday, allowing us to spend valuable time with family, which we really appreciated. They asked helpful questions to make sure they could provide the best care for our dog, and they made sure to take him out for walks and give him lots of good attention. We are so glad we met them, and would definitely recommend them to anyone!

About: I grew up with all kinds of animals including cats, dogs, chickens, goats, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and the list goes on! I'm comfortable around all animals, and I absolutely adore them all! I go to school full time, but I do not have classes on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. I can be available between classes on Wednesday and Thursday. There's lots of room for flexibility in my schedule. I will follow all instructions the owner provides. I can crate animals, take them on walks, feed, and water them, and keep them entertained throughout the day.

Just visiting the area and super grateful to have found Jestina so I could attend an event. She loved my energetic boxer mix as if she were her own. I appreciated the updates, pix and video, and also the warm interest she took in my own life too! (Sometimes the dogs get all the attention!) Highly recommend and will use again when in town! Thank you, Jestina!

Robert and Sheila were fantastic! They were responsive and easy to work and took great care of our little one, Shelby. Their sweet dog Yoti was patient with our timid and over-attached dog Shelby. Yoti is friendly and welcoming……just like Robert and Sheila. Their home had a beautiful back yard where the dogs can roam together, and Rob is there with them all day while he works. We were fortunate to find them.

About: Currently being a stay at home mother, my hours are very flexible! Growing up with cats and dogs, my kiddos and I are currently lacking the fun presence of furry friends! Although my apartment is not the biggest, allowing only one dog at a time allows all of my attention to be focused. If pets are to stay overnight you can expect daily walks, trips to dog parks and most likely a bath if we get too ambitious. I am an adventurous person that believes dogs have individual personalities and unique characteristics that should be embraced and loved. Allowing pets to cuddle up on the couch MAY be negotiated because I am a sucker for puppy eyes. I am currently a stay at home with my three kiddos. I home school, so including a dog in the mix is so much fun for us! We often go on walks and trips to the park. I have a fenced yard, doggie door for easy outside access and loving, gentle kids to keep your animals company with lots of love and play.

I have experience with dogs that aren't good with other dogs. I know how hard it is to find someone you can trust with such an important member of your family. Your dog will be safe and well cared for in our home, there will be a lot of cuddles and love. I have two teens at home who will also be loving on your fur baby. Your dog can explore the awesome hiking trails nearby or meander through the neighborhood on a "sniffari" if that is more their speed. I have two cats that are used to living with an extra large dog. What I Offer: • Comfort and Care: I have a pet loving home and clean spaces for playing and resting, with a fenced in yard. There are 4 of us that will love on your dog and make it feel comfortable. • Daily Updates: I will send regular photo and video updates so you can see how your dog is doing—playing, walking, and relaxing. • Clean and Safe Home: I keep my space clean and dog-friendly to make sure your pet stays healthy and happy. There is a large backyard that is fenced in. • Personalized Attention: I will treat every dog like my own, giving them love, care, and attention based on their unique needs and preferences. Why Choose Me? • Peace of mind knowing your dog is in good hands with someone who is passionate about dogs. • A loving and caring home where your dog will be pampered and made to feel comfortable. • Clear communication and daily updates to keep you connected. I am a homeschooling mom and have a lot of flexibly in my schedule. I can easily drop-in for some play time or snuggles with your dog or cat. I can easily board your dog or take them for walks, whatever is needed. I have two teens who will also love on your fur baby. I have a fenced yard and a safe and clean home for your dog. I can crate your dog if that is what it needs. Your dog will get multiple walks in a day, if that is what they need and playtime. Your dog will be in a super loving home, full of animal lovers. Bernadette was wonderful with my rescue puppy Isabel!! It was her first time being left with someone, and I felt calm and confident knowing she was in Bernadette’s care. Bernadette clearly knows so much about animals and was very kind, understanding, and knowledgeable about Isabel’s communication and needs. I highly recommend Bernadette!!

About: I have been lucky to own dogs my entire life, big and small. My wife and I had our last dog for 13 years until she passed away in 2025, so there is a lot of love that we are now re-directing to other dogs. I have taken care of friend, family, and acquaintances' dogs throughout my life and never had issues. Prioritizing your dog's safety is paramount inside and outside of our home. I work remote so overnights, doggie-day care, and daily walks are easy to manage. Our condo only has an enclosed patio, but directly behind the patio is a big communal yard that offers a lot of space to run around and play fetch. I have trained our previous dog from a pup and know how to reinforce good behaviors with treats, repetition, and boundaries. Your dog will be well taken care of and will have all the love it can get. I will not have multiple dogs from multiple people at the same time, to avoid any conflict. However, I am willing to take care of multiple dogs from one owner. Thank you for your consideration! I work from home, so doggie daycare during the week is very manageable. Overnights throughout the week are easier than the weekend, but with advanced notice, a weekend overnight could work. I have a two story condo with an enclosed patio. There is also a large yard directly behind the patio for an easy bathroom spot and fetch area.

I didn’t expect to need someone to watch our dogs for the day but they ended up having a little vacation of their own! Thank you sooo much! They were both happy when we picked up and we would plan a trip this way just so they could have a fun day with David again. While we had our own little vacation both our dogs did as well.

About: I have always loved being around animals of all kind. I have a deep trust in them because of their innocent nature, and I am deeply compelled to love and protect them. I work part-time and have a fair amount of flexibility in my schedule for the time-being. I have a young male pup named Bigelow who loves to play with other dog-friendly doggos. He and I would love the company of other dogs at our home, out on leash walks, hikes and trail outings, and on off leash beach and park playdates. Biggy adapts to the playstyle of his friends; he is a wonderful combination of fast, agile, gentle and sweet, and naturally responds to the dominance/submission of his pals. I have a fenced yard with 1 young and friendly dog, and one indoor/outdoor kitty who reluctantly tolerates the presence of dogs who do not chase after him. There is an unheated pool that the dogs will have access to swim in. The pool will not be supervised constantly so it is important to know that your sweetie can swim if necessary, and can use the stairs to exit the pool. There are sunny and shady spots, stairs, deck space, and several dirt/grass spaces for potty spots. Doggies can roam freely and play around the fenced yard space, and will have access to indoors for meals, quiet times, rest times, and when weather insists. Doggies sleep indoors/outdoors on dog beds, crates, or the couch. Doggos need to be potty trained and should be able to sleep through the night without potty access until 7 am. Your doggy will be in safe and loving hands with us. It is our duty and honor to love and protect them as our own.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 485 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across McDonald. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your McDonald commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 485 sitters in McDonald, 89% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
