I am so glad I found Lance and Alita. They were fantastic dog & house sitters. They were very conscientious in wanting to understand the needs of my dog. They completely spoiled him with walks and car rides. He definitely enjoyed their stay. They kept me updated with photos of their activities with him. They also left my house in better shape than what they found it. I would highly recommend them and will definitely use their services again. They will truly show your pets affection and attention as well as take care of your home as if it were their own.

Linda is excellent! I have never used an in home sitter, and had a really GREAT experience with Linda. She came over in advance to meet me, meet the dogs (I have 3), and get the lay of the land with the house and back yard. I really appreciated the time she took (free of charge) to do this. Upon meeting her, I knew she was the right choice for me and my dogs. I got very lucky, as she was my first contact. I could tell Linda could easily manage 3 dogs (which sometimes feels like 100). Linda showed up as promised, minimized time away from dogs, provided great photos, videos and updates. She’s someone you could definitely count on should something happen while you are away. Bottom line. She knows how to handle animals, an home and has a very calm and kind demeanor. I could tell by the videos, that my dogs loved their time with her. Highly recommend Linda!

Paloma was an outstanding dog sitter. She was extremely dependable and responsible, treated our home with respect, and truly fell in love with our two large dogs. Her communication was excellent, and it was clear she cared for our dogs as if they were her own. When we returned, our home was left neat and tidy. We would absolutely use Paloma’s services again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter.

Anna did a great job with our two puppies and under unusual circumstances because the maintenance people needed access to our townhome while she was there to fix an electrical issue so they were in an out. She was very communicative and it was great to have her. I’ve had her watch a dog of mine before and was impressed now as I was then. Thanks Anna!

About: Hi! I’m Olivia, and I love taking care of animals! I have 10 years of experience taking care of many different animals including senior, special needs, puppy & adult dogs, large & small breeds. Cats, kittens, guinea pigs, various small animals; bunnies, rats, mice, fish, you name it. I even ran my own hamster rescue, having 18 hamsters at once, years ago. I’ve volunteered at the animal shelter growing up because I just love dogs so much! I’ve been pet sitting for friends & neighbors for 5+ years now. I have had 5 dogs throughout my childhood, probably would’ve had 12 cats too, if my grandpa wasn’t allergic, safe to say i’m addicted to animal lovings! I currently have a Great Pyrenees & lab mix currently that are spoiled rotten. Need someone who understands your pets special needs- like medicine, potty breaks, and the dog who won’t eat their treat until you turn around and look away from them? I’m your gal! This is more than just a job for me, it’s dedication & passion! I can do whatever will meet your babies needs, short or long term! Housesitting experience aswell. I’m amazing with animals & am very friendly, trustworthy, & dependable. I offer overnight boarding, pet & house sitting, doggy daycare, drop in visits & lots of love! I work part-time as a server, in the mornings from 5:30am- 11:30am on Thursday & Fridays. Sundays from 5:30am-2pm. Otherwise I have open availability for your furbabys needs. Your baby will be cared for around the clock, and there is always somebody home to watch the pups! I have a fully fenced in huge backyard with my two friendly dogs, Serenity & Halo, to keep yours company with outdoor supervisions and playing & exploring with my dogs. If needed, my dogs can be kept away and your dogs have their own private room, and or also kenneled when needed, we have a large kennel unless provided. I am also available for in house pet sitting aswell as walks, check-ins, etc. I have experience with in-house and just got done watching my neighbors 3 dogs for a month long pet & house sit. Your pup will be treated as one my own babies! Dogs are allowed on furniture around here. Our home is clean & mostly dog proofed. Will provide picture updates & videos. Love gardening and can keep your plants alive while you’re away.

About: **I WILL NOT BOARD NON-SPAY/NEUTERED PETS** I have four dogs that I've raised on my own since puppies. I also have 2yr old and 1yr old girls who go with their dad on the weekends. I work from home but leave a couple times a week for meetings! I do not walk the dogs they run around the yard and entertain each other. I have a fenced yard! Small but cozy home. Dogs are free to lounge wherever they please. I do not own a dog kennel! Bring your own if you’d like. 😋 I will send multiple updates and photos!

Brooke was great! We felt very comfortable having her stay at our home and care for our pets while we were out of town. We have a large dog that recently had knee surgery and required additional attention. Brooke did a great job with our pets and kept us to date on things the entire week. This was the first time we used a pet sitter instead of resorting to our local kennel, and we couldn't be happier about the results. Brooke is tentative, responsible and a great communicator. We will definitely work with Brooke in the future.

Ebone did a great job taking care of our dog, Mae, while we visited family. It was our first time leaving her alone, but we came back to a happy dog napping in her kennel. Ebone also sent us some very cute pictures of their walks and some snuggle time on the couch.

About: I grew up around all types of pets, from dogs to birds to lizards to cats. For as long as I've known, I've fed bearded dragons crickets and ran alongside happy pups. I absolutely love animals, and am happy and willing to work within any routines and structures pre-set for your pets. As a recent college graduate, my time is very flexible - I'm available for whenever you need me. I'm dedicated to clear and open communication about my time. Providing you and your pet with the least stressful pet care experience possible is my goal. I'd love to meet your pet, learn their routines, quirks, and learn anything that's required for their care and your peace of mind.

Will definitely have Mo back in the near future. They watched our dog and our home for a week when we were out of town. We have never had a sitter outside of friends or coworkers but they put us at ease immediately. We received updates and photos multiple times a day and could tell our girl was having fun with Mo. We appreciate them also for accommodating us and staying in our home where our dog is more comfortable. It was awesome to know she was safe and in good hands.

FAQs for House Sitting - McClelland

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 621 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across McClelland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred McClelland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in McClelland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in McClelland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in McClelland. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
