“Tracey is the best! She is great with communicating, on time and of course wonderful with my 4 dogs. I feel much at peace having her do drop ins while I'm away at work! A+++”

About: I have been around dogs my entire life, and have worked with a wide variety of temperaments of dog throughout my life. I believe I have a good understanding of dog behavior because of this I am currently looking for much more stable employment, but because of this, I am free pretty much every day of the week. My schedule is widely open. I have two dogs who lived in a fenced in yard. Both are super sweet, if funny dogs who can be very needy for attention and will let me know when they need food. I have learned how dogs act throughout the years, even if the two I have are more chatty

“Barbara did a great job taking care of my boys (cats) while I was away. She showed up as scheduled and took care of feeding and cleaning the litter boxes. I got photos each day which was fun to see and a video one day as well. Nice to know that they were well taken care of!!!”
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 15. I started just walking dogs, and then progressed to watching family/friends dogs while they were on weekend trips/ vacations once I was able to drive. On top of watching other peoples animals, I’ve always had animals of my own, so I’ve been around Dogs/Cats my whole life. I am due in November, and I won’t be working once I have my baby. My schedule is completely open and my Dog is looking for a friend to have a sleepover 🩵 I have 3 acres and lots of room for dogs to run around and play! My dog gets along with any kind of dog, so your fur baby will have a friend the whole time! If you would like your dog crated, I can do that as well.
About: I’ve been a dog mom to my Golden Retriever, Ellie, since I was 9 years old, caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. Along with raising Ellie, I’ve also helped care for family and friends’ pets over the years, so I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and routines. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet, and I’ll treat your dog like they’re my own. Whether they love long walks, playing outside, or just getting lots of attention, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. As a college student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time to caring for pets throughout the week. Outside of class, I have availability for walks, drop in visits, playtime, feeding, and giving pets the attention they deserve. I enjoy being active, so spending time with animals fits naturally into my routine! Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my top priority. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and I will care for them with the same patience, attention, and love that I give my own dogs. I will always follow your pet’s routine, respect your home, and provide a safe, calm, and caring environment.
About: I’ve cared for pets and homes across the U.S. and internationally with TrustedHousesittersdotcom—including month-long house and pet sitting stays in Thailand, Ireland, and England. As the founder of HomestewardZdotcom, I bring the same thoughtful, trustworthy care to animals as I do to homes and gardens. I’m also accustomed to working with special needs cats and dogs, including those with behavioral or medical requirements. I genuinely love animals and treat them like family, offering calm, attentive companionship and reliable routines. Whether it’s dogs, cats, or more exotic pets or horses, I ensure they feel safe, seen, and loved while you’re away. As the owner of HomestewardZ, where I offer handyman work, interior painting, and house/pet sitting, I have complete flexibility in my schedule. This means I can be fully available to care for your pets whenever they need attention—whether that’s daily walks, medication, or just quality time. Pet care isn’t a side gig for me—it’s part of a meaningful lifestyle rooted in trust, presence, and care. I care for pets exclusively in my clients’ homes, where they feel most comfortable and secure. I prioritize safety, consistency, and trust—following your routines closely, keeping the environment clean and calm, and giving your pets the attention and affection they need to thrive while you’re away. I treat every home with deep respect and every animal like a member of the family.
“Zadee really cares about the pets. She came over a few days prior to meet them and get the entire routine a couple of days prior. Obviously smart and paid attention. Arrived on time, filled an extra water dish that I hadn’t requested, followed the rules and requests. Would easily hire her again!”

About: I have dog sit for my aunt for a couple of years now and she says I do an amazing job and will recommend to others. I work Monday through Saturday but I have time I. The evening and in the morning to make sure they are taken care of. I know my schedule is a little Chaotic. I will do what is needed for that animal in that clients home. I will make sure they stay clean and safe and have plenty of playtime and that they trust me
“Jaclyn took such good care of my babies! Every single visit she sent me a ton of pictures and wrote these sweet little updates that made it easier to be working away from home. It’s not easy to find someone who will care for your pets the same way that you do and I feel like I’ve found that level of care with Jaclyn. She even brought her dog Hemera to play with mine and they’re best friends now. Only reason I’d pick anyone else at this point is if Jaclyn isn’t available. Highly recommend her!!”

“Ruth was a life saver when I needed help watching my Dad’s dogs. She was flexible and had great communication. The dogs loved her which gave me a piece of mind as well. I would highly recommend having Ruth as a pet sitter, she’s awesome! Will definitely use her in the future!”

About: I have worked with dogs for quite a while now, started off as a boarding attendant at kennelwood, then managed some group play at dogtopia. I do now work full time at a spa. But, I am looking forward to taking care of your pet rather that’s dog-walking, pet sitting! I do know how to administer medication, and care for senior pets! Questions? book with me today. This is a part-time thing for me. I work full time at a veterinary clinic! This is more of a monthly thing for me. I care for pets in clients home, same with drop-in’s and walks. I stay in contact with clients via text/call. I always provide pictures during the stay.
About: Hi! I’m Arturo, a responsible, active, and dependable caregiver with a strong background in leadership and coaching. I’ve spent years working with people in high-pressure environments as a soccer coach, which has taught me the importance of patience, communication, consistency, and attention to detail — qualities that also matter when caring for pets. I genuinely enjoy being around dogs and understand that every pet has a different personality, energy level, and routine. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, structure, or just calm companionship, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I’m attentive to instructions, reliable with schedules, and committed to treating every dog like family. My goal is simple: give pet owners peace of mind knowing their dog is in good hands. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate quality time and attention to the pets I care for. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fenced yard and a clean, safe environment where dogs can play and relax comfortably. I always follow each owner’s instructions carefully regarding feeding, routines, medications, exercise, and behavior preferences. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
