“Briar genuinely loves dog and has shown a great deal of patience with my shy and sometimes skittish spaniel. She takes time to play with my dog and even gives her periodic car rides.”

“Linda was very responsive to our needs for both our pet and home. She took care of medicine needs and provided much needed attention for our Bichon. We are ready to book with her for our next vacation!”

About: I am open to caring for any and all pets. As someone who currently has 3 Great Pyrenees, an Austrian Kelpie puppy, and other pets, I am experienced in all areas and types. I have open availability to care for pets. I work for myself so build my schedule around jobs and appointments as needed. I am very flexible with accommodations so please reach out if you have any questions. I do not offer overnight in home care at the moment due to all of my pets at home but will gladly stay at your home with your pet. I can send pictures and videos of your pet to you and don't mind cameras in the home so you can drop in any time and see your fur and/or scaly baby.

About: I have experience with all animal types including dogs, cats, horses, livestock, birds, pocket pets and some reptiles. I am a licensed vet tech so I am also comfortable medicating animals that need it. I have 7 dogs and 3 cats, all of which are friendly with other animals. I will treat your pets as if they are my own no matter if they are being boarded or just going for a walk. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding your pets and their needs while you are working, vacationing, etc. I can care for pets early before work, mid-day and late after work. On weekends my schedule can be more flexible depending on what activities I have going on. Any dogs that come into my home will be treated as if they were my own. I have a fenced backyard for the dogs to play in. Boarding dogs will have their own room to hang out in.
“Christina took great care of our two dogs and cats while we were traveling. This was our first time using a pet sitter and she helped us be at ease! We got lots of pics and updates which were so welcomed!”

“Lily and Philip are absolutely wonderful dog sitters. I received lots of photos of my pups and they felt lots of love while I was away. I highly recommend this reliable tag team!”

“Jenny was wonderful!!! My two pups normally take a bit to warmup to new people but at the meet and greet they both clearly showed a liking to her. Jenny watched my pups in my home and messaged me several times a day and sent pics to let me know how things were going. This was very comforting for someone like me, with having anxiety with leaving them. My house was as clean as I left it, and I was very grateful that she brought in my packages as they were delivered. I would recommend Jenny, we will definitely be asking her to watch our pups again!!! Thank you so much Jenny, for easing my mind with my sweet babies and taking such great care of them😊!!!”

“Victoria is a repeat sitter for us this time however she watched all three of our dogs. They are finicky when interacting with each other and she did everything to make it a smooth weekend for them. I appreciate all the updates, care and compassion she gives the dogs.”

About: I’ve been a lifelong dog lover and have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes, and personalities. I grew up with my own dogs, including a German Shepherd named Brownie and a Pitbull named Peanut, who both lived long, happy lives to 12 years old. Taking care of them taught me the importance of patience, routine, exercise, and lots of love. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have experience dog sitting for multiple dogs at once. I’ve cared for up to six dogs at the same time, managing different breeds, energy levels, and needs while making sure each dog gets attention, supervision, and proper care. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I focus on keeping dogs safe, comfortable, and happy while their owners are away. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company, I treat every dog like they’re part of my family. Please Note: I Travel With My Children If you are interested in Housesits. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy being around dogs and staying active. I work from home with a flexible schedule, which allows me to plan my day around walks, feeding times, playtime, and check-ins. This flexibility helps me give pets consistent attention and make sure they stay on their normal routine. Whether it’s daily walks or overnight sitting, I focus on keeping dogs safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. When caring for pets, I focus on keeping them comfortable by following their normal routine as closely as possible. In a client’s home, I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise through walks and playtime, and receive lots of attention so they feel safe while their owner is away. I also keep the home tidy and respect the pet’s space and habits. For walks and drop-ins, I make sure dogs get safe, enjoyable exercise while paying attention to their energy level, behavior, and surroundings. I always prioritize safety, including secure leashes, awareness of other animals, and making sure pets return home happy and relaxed. I treat every pet like they’re my own and aim to create a calm, caring environment where they feel comfortable and well looked after.
“Charlotte took great care of my dog Cher and left the house super clean! She was super patient and understanding of Cher’s leash reactivity which made me feel more confident leaving. She also sent me tons of photos which was so nice because I was missing Cher a lot! Looking forward to hopefully having her stay again sometime. Thanks Charlotte!!!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Mascot
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 325 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mascot. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mascot walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mascot maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mascot choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mascot. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
