“Kristen was an exceptional caregiver for my baby. She provided excellent care and maintained open communication throughout our absence. She went above and beyond to ensure his safety and well-being.”

“Another wonderful stay with Jessica! She treats my puppy like her own. We are so grateful for her updates throughout our trip and the detailed report she provides when we return home. She’s the best and has a lovely home full of love and toys.”

“Opal was incredible and I will definitely use her services when going out of town again! My sweet dog is 11 years old and has very bad arthritis but she took the best care of him and loved him like he was her own, and he had a great time! It’s so relieving when you find someone who will love and take care of your pet just as you do at home and will keep you updated with photos and videos each day. 5-stars!”

“This was my first time using Rover. I have 3 cats and I couldn’t stand the thought of leaving them in cages at the vet for a week while I was out of town. I contacted Talhia through Rover. I was extremely pleased and surprised from the level of care Talhia provided. The cats stay in a bedroom, set up strictly for them with cat posts, cozy beds, and toys. She interacted with each kitty and sent daily pictures and texts. This turned out to be an stress-free trip. Talhia and her husband were the perfect sitters and I won’t hesitate to use Rover whenever I go out of town! Brenda Anderson”

“Booked a Sitter at the last minute for my Fur baby and Amanda was very responsive and accepted my booking. She was great with Majesty and sent me updates and pictures during her stay. Would definitely recommend and book again.”

“Wow she was great! She was very accommodating for a last minute booking! She allowed me to do a meet and greet and she was very flexible. She sent me pictures of Bailey which made me very happy to see he was well taken care of! From that first visit, I have already booked her for two additional times and will continue to book her for as many as I can! She is awesome and I’m so happy I found her!”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sac was wonderful with my dog, April! She took great care of him and kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. April came home happy, healthy, and well cared for. It was clear that Sac treated him like her own dog. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you, Sac, for taking such great care of April!”

“Wade & Morgan were fantastic hosts for our dog Boone over Memorial Day Weekend. Boone had a ball playing with their dog Atlas for 3 days. Wade and Morgan sent pictures and provided updates everyday. Would highly recommend!”

“10/10 Jordyn was absolutely amazing with our dogs! We have two medium/large size dogs, one that’s a love bug and had never been boarded before and the other one has severe separation anxiety where previous boarding didn’t go well a couple years ago (previous time was with a different facility). From the initial meet and greet, to daily updates and photos she kept up informed but also made our anxious baby feel so loved. She has a beautiful fenced in area and we felt totally safe leaving our babies with her. We would absolutely use her again in the future! Thank you again for keeping our girls and they are already napping in the backseat :)”

About: I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and have always had pets in my home. I currently have three dogs of my own, ranging from 9 to 65 lbs, and I’m also an experienced foster for both dogs and cats. Over the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of fostering and helping 24 animals find their forever homes. My fostering experience has given me hands-on experience with dogs and cats of all personalities, including those with anxiety, nervousness, and behavioral challenges. I’m patient, attentive, and committed to making every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re in my care. All dogs in my care receive multiple leashed walks throughout the day, along with plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship. I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family! While I work full-time, my schedule allows flexibility during the day for walks and drop-ins, and I’m able to come home during lunch to let pets out. My own pets are let outside 2–3 times before I leave for work and spend the entire evening out and about with me. Dogs in my care will receive multiple leashed walks throughout the day, plenty of attention, and lots of companionship. I’ll treat your pets like they’re part of my own family! Safety and comfort are my top priorities when caring for pets. In my home, my pets have their own dedicated room, and each has their own crate for a safe, comfortable space to retreat to when needed. All pets are fed separately to help prevent food-related issues and ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable. The pet room is quiet and away from the regular activity and household noises, giving pets a calm place to relax. Dogs that get along well are welcome to spend time together throughout the home, while pets who prefer one-on-one attention can have individualized time with me. I’m also able to rotate pets as needed so everyone gets plenty of time out, exercise, attention, and companionship. Pets are welcome to roam throughout the home and relax on the furniture when that is allowed in their own home. I do my best to maintain their normal routines and boundaries while providing a safe, loving, and stress-free environment.

“Molly had a wonderful stay with Barrie! It was clear that Molly was loved on and well taken care of by the frequent updates, pictures, and videos we received from Barrie. Barrie loved Molly as if Molly was her own pup. Molly got tons of play time and had a blast.”

“Lawden was wonderful with both of our dogs! She kept us updated with pictures, communicated well, and was flexible with our plans. We really appreciated her care and would definitely recommend her!”

“We have never had a bad booking on Rover BUT Chyra is the best, BAR NONE! She provides great instructions to set expectations. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND treating a hot spot that appeared, she gave me something to read explaining my dog's behavior AND she even went to the store for us to get some extra supplies we needed. If all of that doesn't say enough, i couldn't get Chadwick to leave with me... HOW EMBARRASSING! It goes without saying that we've found our forever sitter because the icing on the top is she's :10 minutes away from us!”

“Charlie and family were great! Took our dog Terrance for a last minute weekend booking. Kept us updated with regular pics and texts. Would definitely use again. Thanks so much!!”

“Jessica was great with boarding my dog, Tommy. She sent photos and assured me he was doing well throughout his stay. I highly recommend Jessica to anyone who is looking to board their dog on Rover.”

“Mallory and her family took great care of my dog, Dottie, over the holidays! I was a little anxious that Dottie would misbehave (she has only been with me a short time and this was her first time staying with a dog sitter). Mallory was great at communicating and great with handling my sweet pup! I was totally reassured that I made the right choice choosing her. I would definitely leave Dottie with her again. I have used a number of different Rover sitters, and Mallory is my favorite!”

“Our pup had a fabulous stay with Alex! She kept us updated and our doggo entertained, safe, and happy. Couldn’t ask for better! Our dog loved being able to run around outside in her back yard and play with her pups!! Thanks so much!!”

“I travel a good bit for work and fun. So naturally I want to ensure that my little buddy Duke is well taken care of in my absence. We have enjoyed some really great sitters in the several years that we’ve been a part of the Rover community. But hands down Kayla B. was by far THEE best sitter we have ever experienced in 12 years of being a dog mom. Her genuine care, love, and concern for animals is exceptional. Her communication was wonderful and quick. Thanks to Kayla, I even have a picture collage of Duke for keepsake. She went above and beyond to check his tongue when I thought I saw a rash in a picture. This was the first time my dog was torn when it was time to come home. I could tell he missed Kayla and her family instantly. She is our forever sitter as long as she’s doing this.”

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
97% of sitters in Marvel can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Marvel home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Marvel.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Marvel. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
You and your Marvel sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
