“Although it was only one night, we know Kimberly took great care of our boys and showed them love like they were her own! She sent pics, asked questions, and let them cuddle with her haha. Will be booking with her from now on!”
“Nadia was great! She took care of our house and pets and communicated frequently with photos and updates. Everything was nice and clean when we got back and our pets were happy. Thank you so much!”

“We couldn't be happier with the care Amanda provided for Alex and Fiji. Communication was wonderful from the start and she provided pictures periodically throughout the weekend. She was dependable and always on time. Amanda followed all feeding instructions perfectly, kept our home tidy, and sent wonderful photos that gave us total peace of mind while away. They warmed up to Amanda immediately. Should we have a need, we will definitely book with Amanda again!"”

“Elizabeth is wonderful. She exceeded our expectations and when it comes to our fur babies we have high expectations. Elizabeth is friendly, professional and trustworthy. We would give her more than 5 stars if we could.”

About: I have a super energetic beagle, and an old teacup poodle, so I can handle both sides of the spectrum of dogs. I love dogs of any size and temperament! I currently work three days a week, so I can spend much time with your babies! Caring for pets is a big part of my life and I would love to help! When working with animals I always am very attentive. I will let them out multiple times, let them get their energy out, always keep their water bowl full and give them so much love!
About: I’ve been taking care of Dogs since I was 8 different types of dogs. This allowed me to understand different types of dog behavior. It's been a true passion of mine to take care of dogs. I'm currently free as of now. I have time to house sit just about anytime of the week whether it's a weekend or a weekday at any time scheduled. I have a fenced-in yard that sits around 2 acres which allows bigger or smaller dogs to be able to get their Exercise or space needed to play.
“Teri took great and loving care of my dog for 12 days. She went on long walks and took him to a variety of dog parks every day which he loved. Teri is a great communicator and sent pictures every day. She took great care of my home as a house sitter as well. I have booked her again for dog & house sitting in the future as I was very happy with her dedication and care for my dog and home.”

“Amy is phenomenal! She is responsive and listens to your preferences on the care for your babies. She is thorough and follows through on instructions. I will definitely hire her again and recommend her services.”

“This was our first time using Rover and Cindy went above and beyond our expectations! Our four puppies were very well taken care of, and Cindy did an amazing job! We were away for 4 days and she came to our house to watch the dogs. They got all of the love and attention that they get when we are with them! Looking forward to Cindy coming to take care of them again :)”

“I had never heard of or used rover.com before and I'm so glad I did. Dawn kept Herbie (my precious mini doxie) happy and healthy for 7 days -- no small feat, except his feet ;-) I was so pleased that he was able to stay at home, without the stress of a kennel, and enjoy the company of someone who cares as much as I do for my little buddy. Even through tornado watches and horrible weather she was steadfast in her commitment. I would definitely recommend Dawn and request her services again. ”
“We truly got exactly what we were looking for with Sarah. She took incredible care of both our fur baby and our home. She was responsive, sent multiple photos and updates throughout the day, and we felt 100% confident in leaving our dog and our home in her hands while away. Can’t recommend enough!”

“Diane is absolutely amazing! Diane stayed in my home and sat for my 2 dogs. Diane was absolutely wonderful. She was very communicative and sent me pictures of my babies. I would definitely use Diane again for any sitting needs!”

“We had an excellent experience with Deyni. We came home to happy, relaxed, healthy dogs and cats as well as a clean home. We really appreciated the regular updates and photos. Deyni is professional and genuinely cares about animals. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for trustworthy, reliable, and compassionate care for their pets.”

“Marie was fantastic! Very attentive in advanced and ask lots of questions to provide the best care for my dog. She communicated consistently and without me requesting throughout her entire stay with him! I would highly recommend her and will absolutely use her again!”

“Great sitter for my disabled dog. It is very difficult to find people willing to take on my blind toothless little poodle. Lee did and made her a part of the family. I did not have to worry at all.”

“Xanadu is the literal BEST! 10/10 would recommend. She stayed at our place while we flew out for a weekend wedding trip and was extremely flexible when things went awry as hurricane Ian approached. Our trip was canceled and then back on and she came in clutch. Lots of pics and pets for our pup and floof, our minds and hearts were at ease knowing she was here.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 657 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Martin. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Martin walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Martin maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Martin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Martin. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
