About: Having grown up with a cat and two dogs, my lifelong affliction for animals has fueled my passion for pet care. Since the age of 10, I have taken the responsibility of looking after dogs and cats belonging to both family members and friends. Entrusting me with their fur babies, I fulfilled various duties, including walking, feeding, playing, administering medication, bathing, and maintaining litter box cleanliness. My affinity for working with animals has always been reciprocated, as they naturally gravitate towards me! Rest assured, I am dedicated to providing your pet with the utmost care and love while you are away! I’m currently attending school at the Univeristy of Sioux Falls, so I will have plenty of time to play with your four-legged friend! My schedule is normally pretty flexible! I have classes from 8am-9am and 1pm-2pm on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays; and class from 8:30am-9:45am and 11am-12:15pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Anytime before or after those times I am free to hangout with your furbabies! I am not available to host your animal in my home, as I am a college student living in the dorms! However, I am willing to go on walks and hikes with your fur baby along with going on little drives if needed as I have a vehicle that I am comfortable having animals in!

About: Hi, my name is Barb, and I am an experienced and caring sitter. I have several years of hands-on experience, caring for dogs, cats, and rabbits, each with their own unique personality. My pet services include daily walks, feeding ,companionship, games and play, washing out litter boxes, and timely meds, meals, and snacks. I am available most weekends and holidays. Please allow the courtesy of at least one day’s advanced notice in case of cancellation or postponement. I look forward to meeting both you and your four legged family members! I work during the week, but I’m available most weekends and holidays. I am a former educator and my children are grown and on their own. This leaves me plenty of time to spoil your furry family member. I am available on short notice. I am happy to care for your pets in your home. I take the time and effort to transition from ‘intruder’ to your pet’s likable companion.

About: Ive been taking care of as well as raising all animals since I was 7. I love & enjoy their company and companionship. Myself as well as my fiancé both have experience through out our lives. I currently stay home & daily pet care is a part of my day already with our wonderful furry friends. We love parks & walks even some play time in the yard. I have family as well as friends that look to me for care & tips when it comes to their pets We currently dont have a fenced in yard but our companions are always well watched. A couple of our dogs are of leash trained but we do have those ones that love to run. So park days are our favorite. Our animals are all very well trained which was all done by us. Our little furry friends would love some more friends!!

About: I have grown up caring for dogs of my own my entire life. I currently have a one year old dalmatian who loves to play outside in our fenced in backyard. I'm available for walks, check-ins, and overnight stays in my home. I work Monday through Friday, but work from home during the months of June, July, and August, so I can be flexible with my schedule to accommodate your pet's needs. On a typical day in the summer I spend a majority of my time outside with my dog. In my own home - My dog will be home with your dog, and they can play inside or in the backyard. My dog has access to the living room, kitchen, and fenced-in backyard through a doggie door. In your home - I will follow instructions from the owner based on your pet's likes and needs. I want to make sure all dogs are comfortable and not stressed.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
