“Brianna was communicative and loved by both dogs. We returned home to find a clean and tidy house and relaxed dogs. I highly recommend Brianna and will definitely use her services again in the future.”
“Ashley was wonderful! You can tell right from the start that she loves dogs, which is truly comforting. She kept us informed, sent pics, and made us feel comfortable leaving our fur babies in her care. Highly recommend!”

“Karl house sat for our 2 cats and 1 dog for 4 days. My cats, normally very shy around strangers, were sleeping on his lap the first night! He must be a cat whisperer :). Karl was great with Gator, our senior lab. Gator sometimes has separation anxiety when we leave, but not this time. Hmmm, dog whisperer too? My one cat needs medication twice a day and Gator once a day. Karl ensured medications were taken and all instructions were followed to a T. Home was clean when we came home, almost like no one was here. BUT I know that's not true as we received daily updates with photos on all pets. THANKS Karl. We'll be seeing you again.”
“Claudia took great care of our dogs and our house. Our older dog is 17 and needs multiple eye drops and medication every day, as well as careful monitoring for flare-ups of his chronic conditions. Claudia was so patient as I explained his routine to her, and he was a happy, healthy boy when we got home. We definitely plan to book her again soon!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was about 8 years old. I love animals of all kinds and as a pet owner know how important pets are to the family and how stressful it can be when being away from them! I work remotely full time 7:30-3:00pm (End of August-mid June). I have time for short breaks/walks for pets during these working hours and evenings after work for lots of play time, walks, etc. (***I work on-site from July 6-August 14, so day time drop-ins and house sitting may be difficult depending on pet needs Monday-Friday***). I will follow your schedule and routines as you would if you were home with your pets to the best of my ability. I like to know what your typical schedule and pets needs are.
“Kara did a great job taking care of our two small dogs while we went away for the weekend. She checked in on them multiple times and sent us updates. One of our dogs is recently blind so we were worried to leave him, but knowing that someone was checking in on him and giving him his eye drops + meds was a relief.”

“We are incredibly grateful we found Erica to watch our dog while we were on vacation. She was responsive, accommodating, and very sweet! We had only adopted our dog two months prior and were anxious to leave him, but her caring nature made us feel at ease and we knew he would be in excellent hands. She was flexible with staying at our home and sent us daily photos so we felt included in his day. She even brought her dog over to play, which our dog loved, and we loved watching the videos of them playing! She left our home exactly how we left it and was very tidy. We will absolutely be using Erica again for our pet sitting needs, she was wonderful!”

About: Calm, relaxing, loving home for your pet! I work from home so am here almost all day and night. Safe and cared for while you’re gone. We have no cats living here at this time but they are always welcomed! I will follow whatever walking, and eating instructions that you set for your pet, to keep their schedules as normal as possible to help relieve the stress of being away. Our home is their home! I’m fully insured and able to handle any needs your pet has! I was a certified medical assistant and phlebotomist (blood draws) so healthcare is in my background also. I am self employed and will be home with your pet. Your pet will be well supervised and treated as a part of the family. My home is private, quiet and safe. It is large and has a nice big fenced yard that I will walk your pet in. I will walk your dog every 2 hours and will not let your pet go outside without me. I have two dogs, Latte, a 40lb retriever mix that was a rescue, and is very sweet, but timid around people she doesn’t know, and Gracie Mae, Golden Retriever, that is 6 months old, 50 lbs, and learning to be a gentle not wild sister to Latte! I always safely separate dogs from different families.

About: About Me 🐾 Hi!! I’m a 30-year-old elementary school teacher who absolutely loves animals 💛 I grew up on a farm, so caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life—it’s something that just comes naturally to me! I’ve had the opportunity to dog sit for a few wonderful families (including one with both dogs and a cat!), and I truly love getting to know each pet’s unique personality. Whether your pet is playful, loves to cuddle, or prefers a calm and cozy environment, I’m happy to match their energy and make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. As a teacher, I’m patient, responsible, and very trustworthy. Families trust me every day with their children, and I bring that same level of care and dependability when looking after pets. I understand how important routines are and how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone—and I don’t take that lightly. I will treat your pet like they’re my own and make sure they feel happy, safe, and so well cared for while you’re away. My Experience 🐶🐱 - Grew up on a farm (lots of hands-on animal care!) - Dog sitting experience with multiple families - Experience caring for both dogs and cats in the same home - Comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, and routines A Little Extra 🐾 I love sending updates, pictures, and little check-ins so you always feel connected and reassured 😊 Availability 🐾 I’m available for pet care before and after school during the week, which works great for morning visits, walks, or evening check-ins. As a teacher, I have a consistent daily schedule, so you can count on me to be dependable and on time. I’m also open to weekend care when my schedule allows—feel free to reach out and I’ll always do my best to accommodate! Safety, Trust & Environment 🐾 I provide care in your home so your pet can stay comfortable in their own familiar environment. I follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions you provide. As a teacher, I’m very responsible, trustworthy, and detail-oriented, so you can feel confident your pet and home are in good hands. I always make sure pets feel safe, calm, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m also happy to send updates and pictures so you can feel at ease knowing your pet is happy and doing well 😊

About: I grew up in the woods surrounded by a constant menagerie of beloved animals, from kittens and hamsters and goldfish to an energetic black lab and her tumbling litter of puppies, to parakeets and cockatiels and the wild baby hawks my mother rescued. Though I never had a snake growing up, I lived with two ball pythons in college and learned about reptiles petsitting for iguanas. Because I travel regularly, I’m not in a position to have pets of my own, and so petsitting is not only a way to earn extra income, but also to fulfill my longing to connect with animals. Life is better with creature friends! I’ve been petsitting for 21 years, and I have experience with a wide variety of animal, both long- and short-term stays, and with boarding cats, dogs, and snakes at my home for weeks at a time. I’ve provided long-term care for kitties and pooches who need diabetes injections twice a day, and I’m no stranger to following *very specific protocols* to get an aged friend to take their daily pills. I’ve cared for nervous nellies and pandemonius puppies and cats who need to chase lots of things in order to stay sane. I enjoy learning your pets’ favorite games to play, and I’m also experienced with supporting any training and boundaries you’re working on with them. I understand that when I’m petsitting, it’s like nannying children (which I’ve also done for over a decade!) I’m committed to providing your pets with safety and care, as well as showing them love, energy, and attention while helping them navigate what it’s like to miss their favorite human. I treat petsitting as a great responsibility, not only regarding practical logistics, but also for your pets’ enrichment and quality of life! I work primarily as a grant writer and non-profit consultant, and so I have a flexible daily schedule. I often work from home, which means I’m able to spend time with your pets throughout the day! I love walking pets and giving them (and me!) exercise, and I’m able to do so as often as your pet requires. I’m a professional musician and I have performances from time to time in the evenings or brunch time, but I’m able to plan my schedule around your pets’ needs. Since I’m flexible with time, I’m not overwhelmed by complex feeding schedules or rituals. I love the psychological richness of caring for new and different types of animals, and I’m a quick study to learn new protocols. I’m happy to learn your pets’ rhythms, and match their routines as closely as possible while I’m with them. I have many years of experience with overnight gigs in other people’s homes, and I deeply respect the responsibility of caring for someone else’s space. Since I’ve been petsitting for so long, I’m very familiar with keeping a small footprint and cleaning up thoroughly after myself. I also have experience caring for plants and other home maintenance needs while petsitting, anything that will put your mind at ease while you travel.
About: Animals and nature have been my greatest passion for as long as I can remember. I’ve been exposed to, and well acquainted to a variety of animals, including fish, rodents, reptiles, dogs, cats, horses, chickens, and even a baby squirrel rescue! I am also a volunteer dog walker at my local shelter, which is my therapy and brings me great happiness. I have two dogs of my own that I’ve raised since they were eight weeks old. They are my entire world. I am knowledgeable in basic dog training and obedience, and very observant and understanding of animal behavior. Nothing brings me more joy and happiness in life than being surrounded by the love and purity of animals. I currently have open availability. I have a very flexible and adaptable schedule and I am open to what works best for you and your pets needs. I am with my dogs all day everyday. They get all of my love and attention. I constantly monitor for potential hazards and act accordingly in order to limit any risks. Cleanliness and order is my main priority as I value a clean and tidy home. I have fresh water out all day and I feed them twice a day. My dogs get a specialized high end kibble which I supplement with fresh meat, organ, eggs, fruits, veggies, goats milk, coconut oil, bone broth, salmon oil, turmeric and a daily vitamin. I wash my dogs as needed or every two weeks. I brush their teeth, fur, and clip their nails weekly as well. I only have high quality chew bones and other toys available that don’t pose a risk as my dogs are heavy chewers.

FAQs for House Sitting - Marathon
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 247 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Marathon. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Marathon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Marathon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Marathon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Marathon. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
