âElizabeth is professional, warm, communicative and reliable! She made time to walk my dog even though she was busy. Iâve already recommended her to friends!â

About: I grew up with all different types of animals my whole life. I have been a dog mom for 13 years. I am great at walking dogs who have aggression towards other dogs, I know how to find a calm route to take and distract them before conflict arises! I recently lost my 90 lb alapaha blue blood bulldog mix to a terminal illness and am looking forward to spending time with other people's dogs. I am a self employed artist, volunteer, and executive director of a free store that I physically staff on Saturdays, so I have a very flexible schedule. I will care for pets in your home with so much attentiveness and love! Just give me a set of instructions and I am happy to hang out :)
âElishamaria was wonderful. She was very friendly, communicative and professional. She made our dog Butters feel very comfortable and happy. We were able to enjoy a little time to ourselves in Hudson. We would definitely book her again the next time weâre in town!â

Over the years Iâve helped friends, family, and clients with pet sitting, feeding, walks, litter box care, and making sure pets feel comfortable while their owners are away. Iâm very attentive and truly enjoy spending time with animals.â Since I currently have a flexible schedule, Iâm able to dedicate a lot of time and attention to the pets in my care. My day typically includes walks, playtime, feeding on schedule, and making sure pets feel comfortable and loved. Iâm home often, which allows me to give pets consistent care, supervision, and companionship throughout the day.â I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment for every pet in my care. I always follow the ownerâs instructions carefully, keep pets on their normal routines, and make sure they are supervised and comfortable at all times. I pay close attention to their behavior and needs to ensure their safety and well-being.â

âWe cannot say enough positive things about Roman! He is incredibly kind and responsive- We needed help with our senior yellow lab and had some unique needs for our pup and family while we were in the hospital with a newborn - Roman went above and beyond with kindness and flexibility to help our family in a crazy time, and was a true life saver! His love of animals is clear - we would recommend him to anyone and will absolutely ask for his help next time we need it.â
About: Taking a break from corporate life! Aside from numerous family pets, I've had my pittie for about 5 years (does not join me on bookings) and we've been through just about every major medical scenario under the sun. Also experienced in sitting high-energy dogs, gaggles of small pups, and the occasional cat. I don't believe in leaving pets alone for long periods and every day should have a little adventure! I'm currently on a break from my career, my wife is WFH and able to watch our pittie while I'm away. Please let me know if your pet(s) cannot be left alone for more than 2-3 hours, otherwise you'll know in advance if anything would take me away for longer than this. Admittedly, I'm a bit of a helicopter parent. I cook all my dog's food, track his steps and sleep, and make sure his physical and social needs are always met. When I'm watching your pet(s), this is the kind of care they get as well.
âSimon helped my husband with our dog's walks after I hurt my knee. He was very responsive, always on time, and flexible. He has a very calming manner and Jack readily went to him and followed him out the door with no hesitation! I highly recommend Simon to care for your dog, and he will remain part of our pack! - Zeldaâ

About: I offer drop-in visits, dog walking, and overnight house sitting for cats or dogs, and Iâm happy to provide daily exercise, playtime, feeding, and medication support as needed. Whether your pet loves long walks, quiet companionship, or consistent routines, I tailor my care to fit their needs and personality. I grew up with mid-size dogs and frequently watched smaller dogs for family friends in Pittsburgh. After moving upstate, I became a devoted cat dad to my black cat, Lola, for four years. Since then, Iâve cared for cats of all ages, including seniors with specific feeding and medication schedules. I'm attentive and responsive to every animalâs unique rhythm. I currently work remotely as a freelancer, which gives me the flexibility to drop in or house-sit for quality time with your pets during the day. I enjoy staying active and love being outdoorsâso your dog will always get a good walk (and a happy walking buddy!). For overnight stays, I treat every home and pet with the respect and care Iâd want for my own. I pride myself on being responsible, respectful, and kindâtreating every home and animal as if my own. As a freelancer who works remotely, I have a flexible schedule that lets me give your pets the attention they deserve. Iâm also available for house sitting and overnights provided there's stable wifi. I am a trustworthy house sitter/ walker who priotizes clear communication on expectations and house standards. I do not offer pet care from my own home.
About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was five years old and continued to get more dogs. I have dog sat for multiple friends and family rating from dogs and cats. As far as training animals, I did grow up with having to train them so I do have some experience. I am currently working part time and go to community college but will be able to manage and work out a schedule that will be accommodating. I have 3 dogs that have invisible fences outside so they can roam free without getting lost, going to the road, running off. I have a big yard surrounding my house so they are used to running around freely. When it gets too cold they come in to the house or garage with my father. I am used to walking dogs as they do get walked on occasion at home or if we have them out of the house. I do not off offer services that welcome pets into my house but I am accommodating as necessary and will offer services at your residency.
âTessa was such a huge help today when, last minute, we needed someone to walk our Sella. Sella clearly took to Tessa immediately. Weâll definitely reach out to Tessa again- thanks Tessa!!â

About: Hi, I'm Marceline! Growing up with a wildlife rehabilitator for a parent, I was surrounded by animals from day one. From bottle-feeding baby raccoons to gently caring for injured birds, I learned early on the patience, empathy, and responsibility that animals deserve. That lifelong passion turned into a career of caring: I spent 4 years at a cat shelter, helping to socialize, medicate and find loving homes for many cats. Beyond that, I've volunteered extensively at Farm sanctuaries and animal shelters, gaining hands-on experience with dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, and more! Whether your pet is playful and energetic or shy and sensitive, I'm dedicated to providing calm, attentive, loving care that meets their unique needs. I know how important it is to trust someone with your animal family. You can count on me to treat your pets like my own - with respect, reliability and plenty of love. Let's connect - I'd love to meet you and your pets! Because I have an open schedule, I'm able to dedicate focused time throughout the day for walks, feedings, play, medication and whatever unique care each pet needs. I plan my day around their routines, not the other way around - whether that means early morning visits, midday potty breaks, evening cuddle time, or sleepovers. I'm used to structuring my day with animals in mind, especially my own cats and hermit crabs. Being attentive to animals' behaviors and needs is second nature to me, and I always make sure they get plenty of love, attention, and consistency throughout the day. When you leave your pet in my care, you're not just hiring someone to feed or walk them - you're trusting me with a member of your family. I take that responsibility seriously. Creating a safe, calm, and loving environment is at the heart of everything I do. I closely follow your pet's routines, dietary needs, and any medical requirements to make sure they stay happy and healthy. Im experienced in handling a wide range or animals - including those with special needs, and I always keep a close eye on behaviot and well-being When I visit your home for your pet, I strive to create a low-stress environment where they feel safe, relaxed, and loved. From cozy resting spots to familiar routines and gentle handling, I make sure your pet feels right at home with me.
About: Hello! Iâm Jess, and I provide specialized walking and drop-in visits across the Catskill, Hudson, and greater Columbia/Greene County area. I donât just walk dogs; I use every visit as an opportunity to build confidence, improve focus, and reinforce leash manners. My approach is built entirely on modern, science based Positive Reinforcement and LIMA (Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive) principles. I believe in rewarding behaviors we want to see, helping dogs learn safely, without the use of intimidation or aversive tools. I am currently completing dog training and behavior studies through the CATCH Academy curriculum. This ongoing education ensures your dog is in the hands of an informed and committed professional. I currently work part time on Sundays and Wednesdays, so I have plenty of time during the week to give your pets plenty of attention, playtime, and care. I focus on leash manners during every walk to ensure a pleasant and comfortable experience. I can work with dogs on impulse control skills to help reduce pulling through positive reinforcement and force free training methods. If your dog has any triggers I will work to maintain distance and reward when calm to ensure success and keep stress to a minimum for your pup.
About: I have always had a special connection with dogs. I grew up with dogs and treated them like part of the family. I have been primarily working as a pet nanny for 5 years for someone who traveled to Europe on a monthly basis. They are staying in Europe indefinitely so I am looking to add some new clients. I can offer your dogs fun playtime and a sense of stability by caring for them in their own environment. I am also available for walks and drop in visits. I send pictures and updates daily. Your best friend will be spoiled and pampered with me. I have a very flexible schedule with plenty of availability as this is my main job. I can also do long term sitting up to 6 weeks if necessary. I am responsible and professional and respectful in your home. Besides caring for your pets, I am happy to pick up mail and water plants.

- 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
