Juliana was wonderful. Not only did she keep me informed on the status of my cats while I was gone, she offered to take care of some additional tasks for me that were above and beyond. I will not hesitate to call her again in the near future for all my pet sitting needs. Thanks, Carol

About: While growing up, I fed, watered, played with, and walked our family friends. I even picked up poop! As an adult, I've done it all, from cleaning major messes to administering meds. I love canines and felines of all varieties, from the smallest to the largest! I am available to care for your pet(s) throughout the business day. Although I am also doing some volunteer work, I keep a regular schedule. I will care for your pets according to your express instructions. They will be treated as my own with as much love and concern as I can provide.

About: I’ve cared for my own dog and neighbor’s dogs for 14 years, giving me experience with daily routines, long-term responsibility, and attentive care through different life stages. I’m patient, gentle, and take time to get to know each pet’s needs and personality so they feel safe and comfortable in my care. Since I recently graduated, my schedule is pretty flexible this summer outside of babysitting a couple days a week. Pet care already feels like a natural part of my routine because I’m used to caring for animals consistently and making time for walks, feeding, attention, and keeping them comfortable. I care for pets by paying attention to their routines and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for throughout the day. With my own dog, that means keeping up with feeding, medication when needed, outside time, playtime, and affection—especially since he’s a senior now. In a client’s home, I’d make sure their pet gets the same attentiveness while following the routines and preferences they’re used to.

Mackenzie is wonderful! She took photos of my cats so I could see they were eating...not really an issue, but you know.... She also watered plants and brought in the mail...and during a rainstorm she checked for a leak (older home here) and then txted back and forth to sort out where to find a bucket to catch drips until I got home. I whole- heartedly recommend her.

He goes above and beyond while dropping in at your house. For example - our dog got into our garbage before one visit & Joel cleaned up all the trash off the floor. We appreciate the care he takes in looking after our pup as well as our home. Definitely recommend!

About: Note: In addition to reading my generic profile description below, please read the FAQ section in detail (compiled as of 3/22/2023). None of the answers called out in that section are with arrogance or attitude. Those all are true facts and that comes with experience/knowledge. To some people they might sound harsh, as it is not to their expected answers they want to hear, but to those who can understand where all that logic of answers is coming from, will definitely benefit in the long run (whether it is with me or in general). My name is Arya Naga. I was born in India and through the hard work and dedication of my parents, I came to the US in 2005. I came to the United States with several dreams: To gain a college education and graduate degrees, become a US Citizen, own my own home and start a business dedicated to my passion, knowledge and training of dogs. I'm proud to say that I've achieved every one of my dreams, culminating in my choosing Portage County to purchase my first home and open Summit Pet Resort (website construction is still in the process), where I specialize in boarding, training and grooming. I personally offer services to accommodate any of your canine needs, whether it be behavior modification, dog sitting, dog daycare, training, or simply exercise/walking while you are away from your home. My Motto: Happiness, Wellness and Safety of every single pet under my care. I own and love 3 dogs of my own. I work them daily in obedience, protection, and search and rescue work. I am currently working to obtain their appropriate titles and compete. I am a NASAR Wilderness Air Scenting certified K9 handler. Each of my dogs are large breed, guardian dogs. I have trained dogs of many different breeds, sizes, temperaments and behavioral issues. I have a deep understanding of the nature and psyche of dogs. I also am adept at developing training programs designed for you and your dog to achieve whatever goal you have for yourselves, should you choose to grow with your dog in this manner. Training programs take into consideration your dog's temperament, age, energy level and drive/focus, along with your personal goals. Despite my native accent, I'm a very effective communicator and will be in regular contact with you as to your dogs well-being, happiness and daily activities. I am fortunate enough to have outside employment that allows me to work from home. Therefore, your dog will have constant love and attention. Along with the essentials of food and water and any necessary medication (if needed), your dog will receive consistent exercise (fetch, tug, ball time, etc.), enrichment activities and entertainment, as well as needed rest. If the customers expect me to use my food for feeding, i am very much ok to do it at a REASONABLE PRICE, provided the customer pup has no sensitivity to change of kibble brand I work from home all day. So i can accommodate to whatever the needs are. I can create good exercise activities to entertain, work and tire your dog out through fetch, agility and other playful activities. Every pet’s care is customized to the individual pup’s need as well as his/her owner’s requirements. But in general every single pet under my care will always be in constant supervision with good play, eat, drink, poop and sleep schedules. My goal is to use my 17,000 sq.ft of outbuildings to setup my official business in the year of 2023/24, contingent upon commercial loan and local zoning approvals. Until then, the dogs are boarded in my house. I can easily accommodate 25-35 dogs comfortably in my house in addition to my 3 dogs. But my goal is to use phasing approach to renovate one building at a time and expand as the business grows. Though I can’t board any dogs in my outbuildings at this time until renovations are done (which is why i am using my house), i can very well use one of the outbuildings for training purposes. So if your pup is in need of any training, i can very well address that as a 1-1 session or group sessions by having the respective owner(s) on site few times a week or can do it like a board and train program. Frequently Asked Questions/Additional Notes: Q1) What is Socialization? A1) true socialization is the process of training the dog to become non-sensitive to any kind of noises, environments, surroundings, animals, people, vehicles, floors, etc. and feel the true connection with his/her owner and be able to consider that the true entertainment is from the owner and not from all the other things in the world and be confident and have great impulse control with respect to all the factors outlined above. Most other people think socializing means my dog has to meet all the other dogs and get petted by all the people on his/her walking routine. That is WRONG. Q2) why is socialization important? A2) to ensure that the dog one possesses is a very stable, calm, confident and well tempered dog. Q3) Why did I personally bring up this topic of Socialization in my profile write up? A3) I get this question asked many times when a customer makes the initial connection on Rover asking for a boarding availability/request "hey before i board my dog(s), I would like to setup a meet and greet with your pets to make sure my pet(s) get along well with yours". The short and immediate answer to that is a NO. There are several reasons for it: a) you are trying to make a meet and greet with three dominant breeds on their platform/property. That is asking for big trouble in case the other pet(s) is/are not well mannered or trained, as this is not a neutral ground. b) I personally do not know the other dog's temperament, behavior, personality and a whole lot of other things. I can't let some random dog come and meet my dogs, as I am unsure of how either parties would react, especially with a Caucasian and a Corso in the mix. c) I have worked extremely hard to get my dogs to the point where I want them in terms of their behavior, obedience, manners, etc. But that does not mean, i can trump the breed genetics. If anyone says "it's all in how you raise them", they are talking wrong. This is the most common saying by most dog owners "My dog plays well with all the other dogs in the daycare or dog parks". Well that is one bad area to use as an example. And one of the worst places to socialize any dog. d) Most customers don't understand the breed types/genetics. Most don't even know what a CAUCASIAN is. If you read up about this breed, then you will understand why I am bringing up this topic. Not only I have to be careful in trying to introduce a pet, but now I also have to try to deal with a stranger's presence on my property. I cannot risk too many variables for that initial introduction. I exactly know when and how to introduce and will do that very carefully. And this does apply in general to any dog when trying to meet a new dog (not just for boarding, but in general on your casual walks or at a dog park or at a store, etc.). Most Customers don't understand this logic and when I say I can't do that until I feel comfortable and know the timing is right, they are getting upset and making that reservation with someone else. d) I am personally responsible for the safety, happiness and well-being of your pup during his/her entire stay with me. So without knowing the true personality of a dog, I personally will not socialize or let your dog play with other dogs (be it mine or other customers dogs). Q4) after reading the above question and responses, you all might be wondering, will my pet(s) ever get to play and enjoy or get the feeling of a true doggy daycare? A4) well, the answer to that is it all depends on how each of the dogs receive and interact with others. For me to be able to make them give that feeling of daycare setup, I have to first study and understand every dog that is in my possession and then make slow and careful introductions with other dogs and once I feel it is safe for them to hang out, that is when i let them play in one of my daycare rooms that is big enough to easily let 20-30 dogs play comfortably. If either the introductions doesn't go well or if the dogs feel uncomfortable with the presence of other dogs, I isolate those dogs and give them 1-1 attention, play time, walk and fetch times. Q5) Based on the socialization explanation above, does that mean my dogs are dangerous? A5) absolutely not. One of my dogs is a service dog working as a Search and Rescue Dog to find missing and dead people. and in order to get accepted to any working club, the dog should be friendly with people and other dogs (though they don't allow meeting with other dogs 95% of the times). But I cannot change the breed genetics of a Corso or a Caucasian or Dutch or to that matter any dog breed. It is just taking that extra precaution so that no one is in trouble, in case anything happens. Q6) Will the customers dogs ever meet my dogs or other Customers dogs? A6) Yes of course. Only if i feel it is safe for them meet. There are several instances where customers dogs were playing with my dogs and customers dogs playing with other customers dogs, and I have a zillion videos to prove that. Unfortunately, due to Rover's Technical features limitations, I can't upload videos to my personal profile. I can only upload pics. But I have sent several videos of such instances to the customers and all of them were happy. Q7) the other most frequently asked question to me is about Where will my dogs stay? and how long will they stay there? A7) as called out in my profile, as my outer buildings are in no shape or form to accept boarding at this moment, I am boarding the dogs in my HOUSE. My profile shows the pics of where the dogs will stay and how they are housed. Each dog will get his/her own individual crate, very well sufficient enough to host the pet. Between 7am-12/1am everyday, the dogs will go out every 2-3 hours and get 20-30 mins of non stop play or walk (relative to the dog's health, age, activity, etc. levels) so that by the end of the break time, they all come in the house tired and would want to lie down and rest. In that way, they go back into the crates and get break for 2-3 hours and again the loop repeats till the end of the night. I have several videos as proof that I sent out to several customers with regards to this. So, I REST ASSURE YOU, your PET will NOT BE CAGED for hours together. I would never do that to any pet (be it mine or customers). some of the customers that hit me up with boarding inquiry mention that their pet free roams in their house and they have similar expectations. I am sorry to burst the bubble, but I don't operate like that. This is for several reasons: a) if i let one or two or few pets free roam, the others will get jealous and I will have to put up with constant barking or whining, etc. From June 2022 till date, I have had only 7 dogs that fell under the nuisance barking type. But other than that, I am extremely glad that all pets tuned to my setup (though some of the customers said "our dog barks a lot in the house. So it would take some time for him/her to settle. Touch wood, I did not encounter such issues even with those that were called out beforehand"). b) we all know dogs can do counter surfing, chewing, etc. So if i let a dog free roam, and if he/she accidentally ingests something that was not meant to be, it is very risky for the dog, which I personally do not want to happen. c) and as you know, males usually try to mark their presence. So if one male starts marking in the house, in order to remark that other males may try, especially with other female dogs present (though all or most dogs are house trained, you cannot change the marking behavior of a male. If anyone says they can train that out, good luck in trusting them). d) if all dogs are lose and free roaming and if for some reason, a fight breaks, it will be extremely hard to handle other dogs while trying to break the actual fight. e) and moreover crate training is very important in a dog's life because it is helpful in several locations like at a training facility (when the trainer is working on other dog(s) and the dog has to be rested, at a Vet's facility when the dog is given medication and has to be put under observation, or to that matter even in one's household to avoid accidental ingestion, counter surfing, pooping, peeing, house destruction due to separation anxiety, etc. But some customers who reached out to me in the past few months didn't like this approach, as it does not work for them and/or their dog(s). I cannot make everyone happy. Q8) what do I guarantee? A8) an excellent staycation under my watch. Lot of play or walk times, good rest times, good 1-1 attention, food and water breaks. I want all customers to understand these points: a) some dogs are fine with boarding but some due to their separation anxiety or being away from their house makes them either moody or upset or whatever and might not eat or drink a day or two or few days. This is a fact. how frequently it happens? that depends on an individual dog. b) when such situation arises - i personally will try to give more play time to ease the dog out, provide enrichment activities, etc. so that the dog feels confident or tired or hungry and starts behaving normally. If that doesn't work out, I try to change locations in the house as to where the dog is housed or give free roaming time or whatever it takes for the dog to eat to begin with. But at the same time, I maintain a fine line with this approach too. What that means is, dogs are smart. So if a dog figures out, me being hungry is getting me free roaming time or something to an individual dog's liking, then he/she tries to outsmart or outplay me. I carefully try to read between the lines of a dog's behavior and act accordingly. c) even after doing all this, if the dog still doesn't eat, I can take the dog to my personal vet and get checked up for any health issues. d) as a last resort, I will reach out to the owner to see if the dog can be housed temporarily for few hours at their friends or family house (where the dog knows someone) to get that first food bite to get some energy. This is in the case if the dog goes on starving mode for days together. e) But at the end of the day, I try do everything in my power to keep the dog healthy, eating and drinking normally. some dogs lose their regular appetite during boarding. that means if a dog normally is used to eating 2 cups a day and now only eats 1/2 or 1 cup a day, then there is a chance the dog loses some weight upon delivery to the customer when he/she comes to pick up the pet (all of this explanation is for dogs that stay for a long time like a week or more. if it is only for a very short stay/boarding, there won't be much change in a dog's weight in a drastic way). I APPRECIATE AND WANT THE CUSTOMERS TO UNDERSTAND ALL THESE FACTS called above. Q9) How Clean is the location? A9) As you can see from my profile pictures, I sweep and mop the house weekly 3-4 times a week. Because if i don't, with the amount of shedding my caucasian does, I can fill up pillows, mattresses and jackets. I use the cleaning liquids shown in my profile to sanitize and keep the house as clean and neat as possible. I also sanitize every crate and crate tray with pet friendly cleaning liquids to maintain the cleanliness for other pets. Q9) What do i expect from the customers? A9) these are few things i expect: a) full details about their pet (be it good or bad - either in the rover description when they reach out to me or via a call after they make the generic request for boarding on rover). b) any feeding, drinking, potty, play, behavior habits. c) if the dog is used to his/her own bed and crate, then i don't mind using that in my house. d) and lastly, would appreciate if they can WRITE A REVIEW. Whether it is a good review or bad review, I don't mind. Good Reviews will certainly help me and of course future potential customers (which is why I have over 100 five star ratings over a period of 12 months, thanks to all those who provided the reviews) and bad reviews will definitely help me correct my mistakes (if any). Q10) CHECK YOUR DOG BEFORE YOU LEAVE A10) What i mean by this is: this is the backstory: Recently, a customer boarded her small dog (about 10 lbs) from Dec 26th - Jan 3rd with me. But as of Jan 13th, I got a text message from her, claiming I did something to her dog and she found bite marks under the dog's armpit below right elbow and she sends me a picture. a) first of all that was a false claim, because 90% of the times her dog was walked alone which was shown in the videos I sent. b) Secondly, the only time she was with another dog was also on a leash and the dog is very good temperament wise. Other than that, once the dog(s) come back in to my house after their walks or play, they all stay in their individual crates, including my own dogs. c) the pic that she sent me shows more like a rash using a vest than a bite mark and if it was a bite mark, I personally don't know what the customer has done or taken her dog to in the two weeks to get something happen to the dog and trying to pull that crap on me. d) even if she wants to claim that, she will not stand a chance in terms of the tests i am going to put her dog and my dogs and the customer dogs her dog was with in the videos in terms of temperament. Because as a human, you can lie, but dogs don't lie, as their behavior is straightforward. If they don't like you, they will show it and if they do like, they will exhibit that too. So the customer can claim all that she wants, but me as a person who understands dogs very well, she will 1000% fail here. e) only bad part from my end was, I never have checked the dogs thoroughly in terms of any previous injuries or bite or wound marks like that, both at the time of pick up or drop off, thinking I can trust the customers. But thanks to this customers, she taught me a realization point once again that "animals are more trustworthy than humans". So moving forward, I will definitely check or will ask the customer to show every inch of the dog's body for any kind of wounds or anything like that (just like they check a rental car before handing it over to a customer for rent). and I will do the same during pick up time. Once the dog is picked up after checking and crosses my property lines, I have no relation to anything that a customer claims with respect to their dog, as I have no control over what has happened to the dog once it is not under my watch. So this means, once the customer picks up their dog and goes past my property, it is an AGREED AGREEMENT THAT YOU ARE HAPPY WITH YOUR DOG'S PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WELL BEING AND I (NAGA ARYA) HAS NO RELATION TO ANYTHING RELATED TO YOUR DOG AND YOU ARE NOT GOING TO INVOLVE ME IN ANY KIND OF LEGAL DISPUTES. f) irony is, even if the customer decides to leave me, I am not going to leave that customer who made this false accusation against me, and I personally am taking this very seriously and will pull her to the court for "DEFAMATION ACT against an individual and business entity". At the end of the day, any business is all service oriented. If one provides good service, then eventually good things will happen. But it is also customer centric/driven. A lot of customers expect/demand/request specific things for their pup, but when I request the above few things, I don't get the same in response. Hope I have made how I operate, how I take care of your pet, and other logistics very clear. after reading all this, if you feel comfortable that I am the one for meeting the needs of your pet's boarding, I GUARANTEE AN EXCELLENT SERVICE TO YOUR POOCH. If not, i totally understand. Thank you to all who took time in reading through this. As i work from home, i can attend the pets needs in a timely manner and ensure they are always well taken care of and are having a good time when boarded with me. They come out every 2-3 hrs and get walked or played hard for 15-25 mins each session and the loop repeats like that from 7am to midnight. I give personalized attention to an individual pup’s needs and strategize my approach accordingly. The pets are always provided with required amount of food, plenty of water, play and potty breaks between 7am to 1am.

About: growing up with a family dog, i’ve always looked forward to our long walks. since i've moved to care for my grandma & i can’t have a pet at my current home, i’m looking to be the dedicated adventure buddy your pup deserves! i’m an avid walker who cleans up after your pet & loves exploring local parks and trails, and i’m just as comfortable handling a brisk, high-energy trek as i am a slow, 'sniff-heavy' stroll for seniors or four legged friends who love getting distracted! HOT WEATHER: for dog-friendly clients, i am able to provide outings to low stress trips to uncrowded, pet-friendly stores/facilities for stimulation and enrichment (including a potty break outside before and after, of course!) i am also happy to walk earlier/later in the day to avoid the heat as well! i also enjoy keeping pets company in home, whether its playing with toys, using lick mats, or just spending some time together! because i work evening and overnight shifts, i have guaranteed availability every morning and midday for your dog’s routine. whether you need a recurring daily walker or a same-day visit because you’re running late, i'm local and ready to jump in! my current job is closing in a few months, so i’ll be even more available for your schedule soon :) in public, i use a short-leash grip, stay hyper-aware of our surroundings without distractions like phones/technology of any kind (aside from photos, of course!), and avoid unknown dogs to keep your pup protected. i pride myself on being a trustworthy, punctual communicator, providing frequent photo updates so you’re always in the loop. i am very confident in my ability to kennel/leash pets & i consider myself well-versed in administering medication. i am keen when reading animal stress signals, ensuring your pet feels safe and understood under my care! as of early may, i am taking dog training certification courses to better my understanding and confidence in dog training :)

About: You can find me at a party hanging out with people's pets instead of the people. I am 31 years old. I have had dogs, cats, small animals, reptiles, and some exotic pets most of my life. From big to little, mellow to over excited, aggressive to sweet, you name it I've dealt with all sorts of dog breeds and their temperaments. At the age of 15 I adopted a dog from a rescue who had aggressive tendencies and through love, patience and some work she became a really sweet dog who I had the honor of having for 15 years. I house sit and watch my younger sisters dogs all the time for her. She has two bully breeds and a small sassy chihuahua. I can handle walking the bigger dogs even if they pull and handle the attitude of the smaller pups. I've been around them all. I currently work a full time job with hours Monday through Friday 7am-3pm, so I have evening and weekend availability to watch/sit your pups. I don't have the space to board animals at my home, but I am happy to stop by walk your pets, check in on them and keep them company until needed.

About: Hi there! I have been a pet sitter since I was 14, with multi-species experience including: dogs, cats, chickens, hamsters, fish, turtles, and rabbits. I am a life long pet owner as well. I am in my 4th year of studying Animal Behavior, which feeds my interest in enrichment and proper welfare for all animals. I have experience with: • oral medication administration • pets with anxiety • grooming and nail trimming (*depends on your pet's temperament) • enrichment I am available for drop-in visits, walks, or pet-sittings. ***I do not offer boarding due to my own pet for the safety of all pets involved! I'm currently on break for the summer and have full availability during the week to stop in and take your pet for a walk or play session, or house sit for a longer period. I tend to stick to the instructions provided as to keep a normal routine for your pet. For a first time visit, I will get aquatinted with your pet and offer a treat if allowed. I will send photos of your pet when I arrive and leave to offer some peace of mind. For walks, I will take your dog on a stroll around the neighborhood so they can let out some energy and use the restroom, followed by a treat after returning home. Drop-ins are similar where the pet will be taken outside for the restroom if needed and have some playtime to let out some energy. For pet sitting jobs, I tend to ask more questions about your pet to get a better understanding of their needs as well as anything else that will need taken care of such as collecting the mail, or watering plants. No matter the species, each visit will include playing, treats, and lots of pets! When entering or leaving your home, I ensure that the key is placed in the correct spot (to prevent lockouts!) after locking to keep your pet and home safe.

  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
