Alison is the best! We have 2 small dogs who are nervous around new people. It took less than 15 minutes for the dogs to warm up to her in the initial meet and greet. She watched the dogs at our house for 4 nights and did an amazing job. Her communication was excellent, with check ins and pictures a couple times a day. She kept the house clean and tidy. The dogs were snuggled and played with. We’d be happy to have her back anytime! Definitely recommend her services!!

About: I’ve had experience caring for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, and horses. I’m comfortable handling animals of different sizes, ages, and temperaments, and I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and well-being. My experience includes feeding, providing fresh water, walking dogs, cleaning up after pets, administering basic care, and giving animals plenty of attention and affection. I am reliable, patient, and attentive to each animal’s individual needs. Spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. My flexible job allows me gaps of time where I can tend to daily duties. I’m a college-aged student who is available to assist with your pets’ needs. My pets and those I take care of are treats really and with as much love and care as I can share. To keep things interesting, I will take my dog Rocko to new and fun locations for walks. I enjoy treating him with grooming and many treats. Rocko is like my little baby, and I am so excited to grow the number of relationships with furry companions!!

About: HELLO! I have been taking care of all kinds of dogs from pups to senior pets who have special needs. I have done stuff like this ever since I was in middle school. I am very flexible with my time. I do have a cat allergy but that won’t stop me from that either! I’m always here to help you’re best friend 😊 Im very flexible with my schedule for a couple months! I can do early mornings to late nights. I’m always able to help with anything! I’m very detail oriented and need straightforward instructions in order to properly care for a pet. The more straightforward the instructions the better! I treat any pet as if they were my own. Maybe a chance to spoil with my special frozen pet friendly watermelon slush for the hot summer days? Or a little trip to get a pup cup? My dogs are spoiled and I miss them so much so this would be a win-win for the both of us 🤣

Absolutely love Madeline. Gildi took to her the minute she walked in the door. She asked good questions about what Gildi likes and doesn’t like. Sent photos over the weekend. She is courteous and a very pleasant young lady. Wouldn’t have even known she stayed the night with Gildi as everything was as I left it. Thank you Madeline, I never worried once while I was at my family reunion. Will definitely call on her again.

Nick is an awesome pet sitter! He and his wife, Mary Kate, took great care of our dogs and cats during a last minute weekend stay. Helo and Lupa loved spending time outside and playing fetch with them. They sent pictures and were quick to respond to texts. We’ve booked him again for another weekend so we highly recommend him and Mary Kate!

About: I have taken care of dogs as large as an Italian Mastiff and as small as mini schnauzers. I am comfortable and confident with handling dogs of all temperaments. I currently go to college full time. I only have classes in the mornings, so my days are pretty open to spend time with dogs or take them on walks. I currently have 4 mini schnauzers at home and provide them with a safe and loving environment. I would bring that same care for your beloved pet.

Kelly did an AMAZING job watching our two girls, Liv and Sophia, while we were away on vacation for 5 days!! We couldn't be happier with her in-home dog watching services. She sent pictures every single day and let us know they were doing well. She was also very respectful of our home and kept things very neat and clean. I could tell by the photos that our girls were very happy to have her here with them - and it makes us feel much more at-ease, knowing they are in their own home while we're away. I would highly recommend Kelly to anyone looking for an exceptional dog sitter!!! She's amazing at what she does. Very happy and hope to have her back for our next vacation. THANK YOU, KELLY. : )

About: Hello! My name is Griffin, I'm 21 years old and I absolutely love to work with animals! I have had dogs and cats in my home my whole life and I have two years of prior experience working in an environment that supported boarding, daycare, training, and even rescue work with pregnant strays and puppies! Shortly after I started working with dogs I realized that not only did I love being with them all the time, but I really loved training and watching each dog progress. In March of 2026 I attended my first training conference. After seeing so many aspects of that side of the dog world I decided to pause working at the facility I was at and began dog training school online at Karen Pryor Academy. I am still continuing to learn more through schooling, but after a few months I was ready to put my learning to use and began on Rover! During my time at the conference I was able to learn more about Pets for Vets and speak with them throughout the weekend. The work they do is so heartwarming and I couldn't help but want to be a part of their service animal training eventually! I love to work with all ages and breeds of dogs! During my time at the boarding facility I handled a wide variety of breeds and I always look forward to meeting new ones! Recently I have been working on training with three puppies and it has been amazing watching their progress. Working with animals has been such an important part of my life and I couldn't imagine it any other way! If you think I might be a good fit for your pet please don't hesitate to reach out! I look forward to meeting you and your furry family! -Griffin Working at a boarding and rescue facility I work with dogs daily and for hours at a time. I own one dog as well that I work with around the house daily! I am able to do walks, feeding, bathing, nail trims, play, and continue any training that your dog may currently be working on! I am also open to working with anxious or less confident dogs as well as handling more than one dog at a time!

FAQs for House Sitting - Mantorville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 177 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mantorville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mantorville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mantorville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mantorville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
