“Aaron & Tia took great care of my Frenchie Bella. She had an initial knee injury that required crate rest and very limited activity and their willingness to accommodate our needs at the last minute for an extended (18 day) stay was beyond amazing. After the meet and greet with Aaron and their amazing soon I felt even more at ease. Prior to her stay, Bella was stung in the eye and was required eye drops in addition to the knee injury. Aaron wasn't phased by the additional special needs. While on travel in Asia, I received almost daily pics and a video. I could tell she was having a great time. She also needed to lose a few pounds to help with her knee injury and Aaron and Tia returned Bella in tip top shape and a few pounds lighter. She is off of her pain meds for her knee and her eye is healed. I can't thank them enough. When I met with them they only had a few reviews and I wasn't deterred. This is proof that the # of reviews does not determine the type of love and care your pup receives. I will be using their services again and again very soon.”

“This was my first experience with a dog sitter, and I must admit I was a little nervous. However, Elissa was incredibly reliable; she sent updates and photos, which really brightened my day and helped ease my worries. I appreciate her taking such good care of my dog, especially on such short notice. I will definitely hire her again and recommend her to my family and friends.”

“We booked with Tanita and Terrence and this was our first time leaving our puppy with anyone else other than family or friends. Both Tanita and Terrence are AMAZING. Everyday they were sending us updates with pictures or videos of our dog and showing us how much fun he was having at his stay with them. He definitely loved being there and was in great care, leaving myself and my partner stress free about leaving our pup with them knowing he was being looked after by such kind and dog loving sitters ? Thank you Tanita and Terrence !!”

“Rena took excellent care of my fur baby. I could tell from the many updates and photos he had a wonderful time during his boarding with her. I will definitely reach out to Rena in the very near future for her services.”

“Absolutely amazing! She was so quick to respond and very accommodating about drop off/pick up times! She also send pictures and videos with updates throughout the stay which I so appreciated! And our Penny girl was loving life over there! We will most definitely be contacting her again! She’s the best!”

“Our dog lovvvveddddddddd Saniyya. Really comfortable with her. Saniyya treated our dog with so much care and love. Including communicating with us. I look forward to using her again.”

“Annie had a blast! They were great about giving updates and making sure we knew how Annie was doing. She was sad to come home and missed her dog friends she made there! Will definitely book again.”
“Chris was awesome! He provided regular communication and updates. He also treated my pet like his own. It was clear that Chris gave Ziggy great care and attention. Thanks!”

“Ashley and her family was wonderful with taking care of my dog! We met before the boarding to get know each other and she provided a thorough background with her career and interactions with pets. Her vibe and energy was amazing off jump! She kept me updated and sent me pictures of how my dog was doing while I was away. Her passion for animals really stands out.. I would highly recommend her!! She will definitely be my new dog sitter Thank you so much Ashley!”

“As usual, my dog was happy staying over at Erwin's. I'm a regular and I highly recommend Erwin and Christina to care for your furball. Thank you, Erwin and Christina, for loving on Gambit!”

“What else is there to say? Ja’Lynn is THE BEST pet boarding provider that our family has had in the past 25 years and THATS SAY A LOT!!! She send our family pics. of Bingo’s activities while staying with her from walks in the park, to strolls around the neighborhood. Ja’Lynn ensured that Bingo received his proper rest after his outings during the day to his rising up the next morning, with anticipation of what Ja’Lynn had planned for his day. The morning pictures that she sent our family showed Bingo’s expression of this. You are a STAR ⭐️ Ja’Lynn! Many thanks and Blessings to you ! The Johnson family”

“From the moment we met Kimberly our dog Hercules was a fan. He walked right up to her and was so excited and happy to be there. She sent us videos and pictures daily while we were away and Hercules always looked so happy and excited to be there. Kimberly made it easy for us to confidently leave him in her care. We'll definitely book Kimberly again.”

“Sarah was awesome! She sent cute pics of my 2 cats frequently during their stay and was super understanding and flexible of any changes I needed to make for their stay at her home. She responded promptly to all of my messages and was helpful with drop off and pick up of my pets. Definitely would try to use her services again if possible.”

About: Your pet's safety, comfort, and well-being are my top priorities. I have professional experience working as a dog handler with detection canines, which has given me hands-on experience with canine behavior, handling, safety, and maintaining a structured environment. I understand that every pet has a different personality, comfort level, and set of needs, and I take the time to provide appropriate care for each pet entrusted to me. Safety is always the priority for your pet, my family, other animals, and anyone interacting with your pet. I believe good boarding should provide owners with peace of mind knowing their pet is being cared for by someone who is attentive, responsible, and experienced around animals. Pets are housed in a secure, indoor, climate-controlled kennel area where they can remain comfortable regardless of the weather. They also have access to a fenced outdoor kennel area that provides additional space, fresh air, and shelter from the elements. I provide a clean, structured, and secure environment and will follow your pet's normal feeding schedule, medications, routines, and other care instructions as closely as possible. Whether you're away for a night, a weekend, or a longer trip, my goal is simple: keep your pet safe, comfortable, well cared for, and give you confidence that they're in capable hands while you're away. I work offsite during the day, but I have a strong and dependable family support system at home to ensure pets receive appropriate oversight and care throughout the day. I personally handle morning and evening care, including feeding, exercise, kennel care, and ensuring each pet’s individual needs and routine are being met. Our boarding kennel is separate from our family home, providing pets with their own dedicated, quiet, and controlled space. The indoor kennel area is climate controlled and provides access to a secure, fenced outdoor kennel area with shelter, allowing dogs to safely spend time outside when appropriate. While I am at work, trusted family members are available to provide supervision, potty breaks, feeding, exercise, or other care according to each pet’s needs. I remain responsible for their overall care and delegate daytime responsibilities with clear instructions. I also maintain video surveillance of the kennel areas, allowing me to monitor pets throughout the day even while I am offsite. My professional experience handling detection canines has made safety, structure, and responsible handling especially important to me. My goal is to provide a secure environment with consistent care while minimizing unnecessary interactions between boarded pets, our household, and other animals. Safety is the foundation of how I care for animals. My professional experience handling detection canines has taught me the importance of understanding canine behavior, maintaining secure environments, following established routines, and never taking unnecessary risks with an animal in my care. Our boarding kennel is separate from our family home, providing a dedicated and controlled environment for our guests. Dogs stay in a clean, climate-controlled indoor kennel with access to a secure, fenced outdoor kennel area with shelter. This setup allows me to control interactions and provide each dog with appropriate space rather than requiring unfamiliar pets to immediately integrate into a household environment. The kennel areas are also under video surveillance, allowing me to monitor pets when I am not physically present. My family provides additional daytime oversight and supervision while I personally remain responsible for each pet’s overall care. I take owner instructions seriously and want to know about your pet’s temperament, routines, triggers, medical needs, and any behavioral concerns before their stay. Honest communication helps me keep your pet, my family, and other animals safe. We are an animal-loving family with our own very well-loved barn cats, so responsible animal care is already part of our everyday life. My goal is to provide owners with peace of mind knowing their pet is staying in a safe, secure, structured, and caring environment.
“Thank you Elizabeth, for taking such great care of our boy Max. He requires extra attention due to his separation anxiety. You treated him like he was your own, allowing him to be a lap dog as big as he is. He loves to be next to people. You provided us with pictures and updates on how he was doing. We enjoyed our trip, knowing he was being well taken care of. Elizabeth, you went out of your way to help us stay calm when our flight was significantly delayed. We will definitely use your services again.”

“Our pup had a wonderful time with Anna. It was easy to tell he had a great time and was well cared for. He came home very calm and happy. During his stay, he had lots of outdoor play, belly rubs, and enjoyed his new buddies. We’ll definitely come back!”

I couldn’t be happier with the care my dogs received. From the very beginning, communication was excellent—quick responses, clear updates, and complete reliability. Elissa was incredibly accommodating and flexible with a last-minute request. My dogs were clearly well cared for, comfortable, and happy the entire time. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Malcolm home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Malcolm.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Malcolm sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
