About: I have 30+years of experience with many kinds of animals. I have personally owned: dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guineas, horses and a goat, pig and miniature donkey! About: I currently work as a zookeeper and have years of wild and domestic animal experience. Working with wild animals means I have a much deeper understanding of animal husbandry, psychology, and behavior that allows me to provide better care for your pet! I'm especially comfortable around and handling large dogs due to the nature of my job. Professionally, I have cared for a variety of wild animals including large cats like lions, tigers, and leopards, dolphins, seals and sea lions, and several canid species. That being said, I'm able to provide a deeper level of personalized care. I currently work 5 days a week, usually Wednesday-Sunday. On my weekend, I'm home all day. On my workdays, I'm able to leave during lunch to provide dogs with potty breaks. There is a dog park within walking distance of my apartment that I bring my dogs to every morning and evening. I do also have a dog potty set up inside my apartment just in case a dog can't wait for me to get home. I provide this because I personally wouldn't make myself hold it, so I would never force a dog to do the same. I provide a very safe, relaxing environment where your dog will be treated like family. I approach care with a proactive approach, rather than reactive. This means I always keep a close eye on individual pet behavior as subtle cues can indicate how a pet is feeling at a given moment. Many pet owners miss out on these cues, especially if they aren't trained to look for them. Overall, this means I try my best to create a safe environment for and trusting bond with any animal I work with via positive reinforcement and never push past an individual's limits.
About: I’ve always been fond of animals and since I have no human children of my own, my two doggos have it pretty good! They are friendly and I’m always around to make sure everyone’s needs are met. I’m currently home full time so I have all of the attention to give to your furry family members! I am majoring in elementary education at Butler with almost all of my classes being online, so I have plenty of time to devote to helping other people with their furry friends :) I’ve been dog sitting family and friends’ dogs for years (now been on Rover about 2 years) and I have two of my own.
