“Karina spent a full week caring for my dog J. They were a great fit together .. and I was very pleased with how much she enjoyed her time with him. Abundant communication throughout each day: pictures, videos, and notes about activities, and how he was adjusting. It was a great comfort to know he was being well cared for, and given so much positive attention & love. Truly above and beyond my expectations. I am sure J is looking forward to seeing Karina again.!!”

“Stan and Barbara were wonderful! Our dog felt comfortable right away and we could see how happy he was in all the pictures they sent us. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Cooper with them again. We are very grateful we found them.”

“Julissa and her sister took great care of sparky. He came up tired and had a great time playing with them. They also sent pictures of him. I would highly recommend them to anyone.”

“Paul is excellent! Dunley is a 5-year-old lab/cattle dog with high energy. Paul made sure Dunley got enough exercise, walks, and plenty of fetch. He came back happy. I will definitely use Paul again!”

“Charlene took great care of my Zoey! After a successful daycare session and trial overnight, I was at ease leaving Zoey with her for an extended period. She loves playing in her yard with her dog, Jack! Charlene made sure Zoey was comforted during the fireworks on the 4th and continued monitoring her for any signs of distress. She also tolerated Zoey digging in her garden (sorry!). Zoey loves being there and looks forward to going back! I highly recommend Charlene!!”

“Margarita is a wonderful pet sitter as well as a kind and thoughtful person! Cody stayed with her for four days and I got multiple pictures and videos of him enjoying his stay. Margarita was great about communicating and so accommodating when our flight was delayed getting in and I had to do a late night pick up. Highly recommend!”

“She is so communicative, kind, and always responsive. And she really treated my frenchie like he was her own. I really appreciate that because he needs a lot of attention haha. I felt like a family member was taking care of my frenchie and that is the best feeling in the world. Thank you! I highly recommend :)”

“Ronit was amazing!! She provided consistent feedback and photos from our dog’s stay with her. Such a warm and welcoming home. She’s so friendly and took great care of our baby!!”

“Shaun and his family were an amazing host! He took very good care of our dog, taking her on daily walks, playing with her and sending frequent updates and pictures. We highly recommend Shaun and will look for him in the future.”

“Anny was amazing with Jack! Great communication, lots of pictures and videos, and very accommodating. She gave him his medication and even cooked him rice when he had an upset stomach. She truly went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and well cared for. We would definitely book with her again!”

“This was the first time since my boys were born in 2018 that they were dogsat by anyone else other than family and it was perfect. Bonnie and her family were fantastic. They kept my boys comfortable while I was away for a week and kept in constant touch to give updates and adorable photos so I could see how they were doing throughout the day. 100% would rebook in the future. Thanks Bonnie and Yee!”

“Couldn’t be happier with the care Bean received while we were away! Bean is a senior dog who requires daily medications and a little extra attention, and Lisa took care of her with so much compassion and professionalism. She kept me updated every day, which gave me total peace of mind while we were on vacation. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring dog sitter!”
“Brutus is my 7 year old Pit Terrier rescue . To fully encapsulate the experience he had staying with Jaclyn, I will need to describe Brutus a bit more. Brutus is very people centric. He not only requires constant attention and affection, he almost demands it. He is extremely kind and loving and often misunderstood by his appearance. He can be extremely stubborn, as is common with pits. I brought Brutus to Jaclyn for an introduction... It went very well. I then decided to leave Brutus for a few days as I traveled. It is also important to know that Brutus just came out of ear surgery, so at that time he required some medical attention, as well as extra care. The surgery and the medication, and the care weren't a problem for Jaclyn. Brutus and his stubbornness, was not a problem for Jaclyn . Brutus being afraid of thunderstorms, and his need for constant affection... also not a problem for Jaclyn . Jaclyn did an exceptional job of taking care of Brutus, showing him love and affection, and it showed when I picked him up. I received frequent updates and photos on his condition and care. Jaclyn was also extremely flexible with my change in travel, and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with her and her husband. After trying many other options for Brutus ... I can definitively say I have found Brutus his permanent caregiver. My family and I are extremely appreciative for the love, care, and attention Jaclyn and her husband have given to Brutus. Thank you so much and we will see you soon!”

“Caroline was amazing at keeping me up to date with photos and videos of my dog’s stay. Her family made Harper feel welcomed, loved and super comfortable. I highly recommend her !!”

“This was the best choice we could have ever made. The back yard is bigger than some dog parks. Our dog, Darby, just fit right in. Nikki and Rick were so kind and helpful. You could tell from the pictures they sent to my phone that they were involved with Darby. Rick even taught Darby to fetch. If we are ever down this way again, there is no other place we will even consider. We are so grateful to have found Nikki and Rick through Rover.com. ”

“Jen was super flexible on drop-off & pick up times & extended schedule. She was proactive in sending photos of my dog from walks & generous in using extra dog booties on my dogs paws to keep him cleaner. Last minute I had some probiotics & med to give my dog & she was ok with that too! I would definitely be confortable leaving my fur baby with Jen & highly recommend her.”

“Inna took amazing care of my dog while I was away. She would send me update pictures unprompted and my dog absolutely loved staying with her and her family. I highly recommend Inna to take care of your pets. =)”

“Stephanie was awesome!! I will definitely be using her again in the future. She was very caring and sent pictures and updates everyday. I highly recommend her!!”

Mallika is wonderful. She took the time to meet Dolly before her week long stay. She asked all the right questions about Dolly and her care. And she kept me informed with photos throughout Dolly's stay. Mallika is a wonderful caregiver of our four-legged family members.

Karina was fantastic! She took great care of our dog Cooper, showing him a lot of love and attention. As did her kids. She was very responsive to us, and sent us updates every day along with multiple pictures. We plan to use her again in the future, and would highly recommend her.

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Lyons.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
