“We had a wonderful experience with Chloe! She took great care of our dog and two cats while we were away and gave us total peace of mind. She sent frequent pictures and check-ins, which we really appreciated, and it was clear our pets were happy and well cared for. We would absolutely recommend her and would love to have her sit for us again!”

“Alexis was wonderful with our two labs, Huck & Finn. She watched them from 9:00 am -9:00 pm and sent me updates with a video and photos throughout the day. We felt at ease with her caring for our boys. She played with them and kept on schedule with their feeding. We will definitely have Alexis care for our guys again soon. I would recommend her for anyone if you’re looking for reliable care.”

“Amber was a perfect fit for our 3 pups! She did everything we had asked of her. Sent numerous updates along with pictures. She stayed at our house and kept it clean and tidy. If you are looking for someone to love on your pets please contact Amber!! She’s literally the best pet sitter and we will be booking her again and again!!”

“Jalontai was great! She was very easy to communicate with, very flexible and willing to accommodate my schedule and updated me with pictures. I came home to a happy dog :) Would definitely book her for visits again!”

“Absolutely the best house sitter! She loved on our pups so much and sent a ton of photos and videos! Linda was extremely flexible and helped us out in a tight scheduling issue. Hands down would have her watch our pups again. 100% recommend!”

“Thank you for being there for Bentley when we can't be. I know he enjoys your company and we can't forget ball time lol.See you in the last weekend of Jan. Seriously longest month ever!”

“Lauren was fantastic. She went above and beyond in caring for our pup. He has separation anxiety and she did her best with him. She is caring about animals and she gave pup great love and attention. We definitely will be using her in the future. Thank you Lauren.”

“We have a second home in Camden and travel there often with our little dog. We normally take her with us everywhere, however this trip we found ourselves in a situation where it would not be appropriate bring her. She has a mild case of separation anxiety and is never left alone. We needed someone to sit with her in our home for a few hours while we went out. We found Angelina on Rover, she has lots of great reviews, so we contacted her and explained our situation and she agreed to take the job. It turns out she lives very close to us and came over for a meet and greet the morning of the day she was going to watch our little girl. Bitsy is very timid but she warmed up to Angelina. We were confident that Bitsy would be content while we were gone. Angelina arrived promptly at the time we agreed upon, we left knowing Bitsy would be well taken care of and were able to enjoy our night out. Angelina did a great job we would definitely use her again.”

About: Update: I will not be available May 18-25, and Jun 2-14 I love dogs!! I've fostered many dogs and volunteered at many shelters. I've had seniors and even fostered one with spina bifida. My first two loves were English Bulldogs. I have lots of experience with them and know that smooshy face breeds are much more delicate than other breeds. I absolutly love them! I'm not good with extremely energtic dogs, but can handle anything else. I am semi-retired. I currently work part time on Friday and Sundays with an occasional third day, so I am home a lot. I have plenty of time to devote to your pooch. In my home, I care for your pet just as I care for mine. Of course, with your direction implemented also. I do have a pool, so I will need to know how your dog is around pools, or if they have zero experience with pools, I will need to know that as well.
About: I’m always a go to, I’m flexible and do what’s needed for the family and the dog. I’m genuine and will help whenever you need. I have a dog myself so I take care of him everyday. He eats and goes out on time, and then he just relaxes ! I will make sure everything is put back in the right place, clean up after myself and the dogs. I treat it like it’s mine.

About: I care about animals, I care about not just keeping them alive but making sure they enjoy their lives. I have had cats and dogs my whole life, and I am my families go to pet sitter when they go out of town! I believe each animal has its own unique personality, likes and dislikes, and I enjoy figuring them out! I work remotely from my laptop, so if I’m staying at your home, I won’t have to leave for work! I do not work Saturdays or Sundays so I’m available sun up to sun down on those days for walking and/or check ins! Monday-Friday I have 5 hours off during the middle of the day, 11am-4pm in which I’ll be available. I care for pets by of course following every guideline you give me, but also by making sure they feel just as much love from me as they would’ve felt had you not left. So you can feel sure your pets won’t get too sad or lonely. (:

About: What sets me apart is the amount of patience, care, and attention I give to every pet. As a first grade teacher, I am very dependable, nurturing, and comfortable handling different personalities and needs. I have experience caring for both large and small dogs, including my own 80 pound dog and 10 pound dachshund. I am also comfortable with puppies who need consistency, playtime, and basic routine reinforcement, as well as senior pets who may need a slower pace, extra patience, medication reminders, or more frequent breaks. I treat every pet like they are part of my own family and make sure owners feel comfortable and updated while they are away. As a teacher, I have a consistent and flexible schedule. I’m up early each morning and available before school, and I’m typically finished with work by 3:00 p.m. My weekends are also very flexible. Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 514 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Longtown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Longtown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Longtown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Longtown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Longtown. On Rover:

- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
