“We have an older dog and a puppy. I was nervous because we haven't left the puppy before and the older dog can sound more aggressive than he actually is. Madeline showed up as arranged, left notes about "their" time together and sent pictures. It was nice for us to get away for several hours and know that Luna and Bruno were well cared for and happy. Would definitely use Madeline again when the need arises.”
About: I’ve taken care of many types of animals since I was a very small child. I’ve never encountered one. I didn’t like, and I’ve never encountered one that didn’t like me. I am currently looking to take care of pets during the weekends, Friday evening through Sunday. Relax and enjoy your weekend while I hang out with my new best friend. I have a social dog that loves to make friends with other dogs and cats. I am very good about following feeding, medication and walking routines.
“Tori provided excellent care for my 3 older cats! She showed up as scheduled and followed instructions exactly for each one since they all have special feeding needs. We will definitely be calling on her to care for them in the future!”

About: I grew up on a farm. I have taken care of cows, goats, sheep, pigs, horses, cats, dogs, chickens, turkeys, peacocks, and fish from a very young age. I work full-time currently. Tuesday- Friday except during the summer I am off. I am able to come in the early mornings to check on your animals or in the afternoons when I get off work. Saturday- Monday I am free anytime. I have pets myself. Currently 4 dogs and a cat. Two of my dogs are almost 10 years old. One does take medication so I am very capable of giving yours theirs. As well as my cat was on medication as well at one point.

About: Hello! My name is Kate, and I am a senior at the University of Northern Colorado! I have experience caring for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, guinea pigs, and more. I currently own four dogs and a disabled cat, giving me firsthand experience with pets of all sizes and special needs. I've cared for dogs ranging from a three-legged Chihuahua to an Irish Wolfhound and am comfortable administering medications, following special feeding instructions, and managing prescription diets. As a lifelong pet owner, I understand the importance of providing safe, reliable, and loving care for every pet. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine as I am already responsible for caring for my own pets. I have a flexible schedule and am available most days and times, with the exception of Tuesdays from 12:00 PM–3:00 PM and Thursdays from 11:00 AM–2:00 PM when I am at work. Outside of those hours, I have full availability and can provide reliable care, walks, drop-in visits, feeding, medication administration, and plenty of attention for your pets. I care for every pet according to their individual needs and routine. In a client's home, I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise and attention, and receive any medications or special care they require. I also help maintain their normal routine to keep them comfortable while their owners are away. My goal is always to treat every pet as if they were my own and ensure they feel happy, safe, and well cared for.
“Dillon did a few drop in visits for my pups and was absolutely amazing! My German shepherd has never met him before the visits and he was a pro at getting her to warm up to him! He also played with them and adjusted to their different play styles. We will be contacting Dillon again for future visits! I highly recommend him!!”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the level of personalized, attentive care I provide and my ability to adapt to each pet’s unique needs. I treat every pet as an individual, not just a task on a schedule, and I take the time to learn their routines, personalities, and comfort levels. I prioritize clear communication with owners, providing updates and reassurance so they feel confident their pet is in good hands. I have experience working with puppies, including reinforcing basic training like potty routines, leash manners, and simple commands through positive reinforcement. I’m also comfortable caring for senior pets and understand they often need extra patience, gentler handling, and closer monitoring. This can include administering medications, assisting with mobility, sticking to special diets, and watching for changes in behavior or health. Overall, my calm, reliable approach and commitment to safety and compassion help pets feel secure and well cared for, which truly sets me apart. Pet care fits pretty naturally into my daily and weekly routine because it becomes part of my normal schedule, not something extra. On a daily basis, it includes feeding, making sure they have fresh water, letting them outside or taking them on walks, and giving them attention. It’s also about checking in on their behavior and health, like noticing if they’re acting different or need grooming. These small routines help keep structure in my day and remind me to stay consistent and responsible. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I focus on consistency, safety, and following the pet’s established routine. I make sure to follow any instructions provided by the owner, including feeding schedules, portion sizes, medication needs, and preferred walking or play routines. Keeping things familiar helps reduce stress for the pet, especially when they are in a new environment or away from their owner. Daily care includes feeding, refreshing water, potty breaks or walks, exercise, playtime, and companionship. I also monitor the pet’s behavior, appetite, and energy levels to watch for any signs of stress or health concerns. In a client’s home, I respect their space by keeping areas clean, securing doors and gates, and maintaining the pet’s normal environment. Whether in my home or theirs, my goal is to provide reliable, attentive care so pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared fo

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
