“This was the first time I had to leave my dog with someone. From drop off to pick up Tanya made me and Shimmy feel like family! She also provided daily updates! Put me at ease the whole time I was away.”

“Tami was an amazing dog sitter for my dog, Luke, this past weekend. From the moment we met, I felt confident in her ability to take care of him. She was friendly, professional, and clearly has a great love for dogs. Throughout the weekend, she kept me updated with photos and messages, which really put my mind at ease. Luke seemed so happy and relaxed in her care. I could tell he was getting plenty of attention, playtime, and love. When I picked him up, he was calm and content, which is a sure sign that he had a great time with Tami. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. Thank you, Tami, for taking such good care of Luke!”

“If I could rate 100 stars, I would. Alina took very good care of my babies. I have an English Bulldog puppy that requires a lot of walking, feeding, etc.. and a 4 year old Cocker Spaniel that has separation anxiety. Alina knew how to handle them perfectly and was very patient with my Cocker Spaniel. She sent me a lot of pictures throughout the days which I LOVED. I was able to enjoy my trip knowing my dogs were in good hands. I highly recommend letting Alina take care of your dog, she will treat them as if they are her own. ❤️”

“Terrie is an excellent sitter! She's been a great and such a lovely sitter to my doggie. She's very communicative sending images and videos and keeping me up with the everyday doings of my Cici. Will be back to her soon. Highly recommended!”

“Bruna was able to accommodate my request last minute. She lives very close by to me and that was a plus! My pups were well cared for! Bruna communicated well and sent me pics of how the pups were doing. My pups were comfortable in her home and were able to prance around freely. She was also able to accommodate giving my older pup his meds. I recommend Bruna to watch your pups and I will seek out her help again when the need arises! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Needed dog sitting in short notice, and Melissa was able to help. They took good care of my dog, and updated me regularly with how she’s doing. I recommend Melissa for your dog sitting needs!”

“Karissa was great. Came and met my dogs before the sitting date. Took great care of my dogs, sent photos and updates. I highly recommend her and will have her watch my dogs in the future.”

“Katherine did an amazing job looking after Abby while I was out of town. It was a 10 day Rover stay and the longest I had left Abby with a sitter. Katherine gave Abby a lot of attention/affection, and was very consistent with providing me updates and pictures. She has a very clean home and was super flexible with drop off/pick up times. Her Rover rating is well deserved!”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life and love caring for them like they’re my babies. I also help watch my family and friends' pets when they’re out of town, so I’m used to giving animals lots of love and attention. You can trust that your pet will be safe, happy, and treated like family with me. I’m attending the university of the rio grande valley. However, I only attend on certain days and right now it’s summer so i’m free. I will make time. I will do my best to clean any mess the pets make and I am reliable to give them food and water and take on walks daily.

“She’s a GODSEND <3 •she was available last minute: family emergency came up and she took Lala Mae in like she was her own. •1:1 care: I had booked with another rover app dog sitter who cared for up to 8 dogs at a time. Estrella took care of my furbaby and gave her the attention she needed while under her care while providing a safe environment. •consistent updates: pictures galore and I loved them ALL! Felt reassured my pet was in great hands (: •Walks on walks on walks: my pet is a blue heeler mix and is in need of A LOT of exercise. She was very attentive to her needs and was able to keep my furbaby’s paws tired and happy •BFF forever: my pet seemed like she felt very comfortable with Estrella and made being away from her easier as I knew she was genuinely cared for. We have not only made a working (dog sitting) relationship but really good friends who share love for dogs. WILL definitely book AGAIN if needed and I’m so happy I canceled the other Rover app booking and moved forward with having Estrella’s dog sitting services a million times! THANK YOU SO MUCH & I AM GRATEFUL FOR YOU! Will stay in touch with you for future updates on Lala as well as dog sitting <3”

“Kelsey watched my puppy during the Christmas holiday and maintained great communication throughout her stay. I also appreciate her offering a meet up before hand to ensure we were comfortable! Great sitter!! 🤍”

“Sophia and Frank took excellent care of two kittens on short notice. They provided consistent updates and were extremely kind throughout the kitten's time there. Your pet would be in excellent hands with this lovely family!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Llano Grande home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Llano Grande.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Llano Grande sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
